پیش‌تر فایننشال تایمز گزارش داد اسرائیل به امارات متحده عربی سیستم‌های تسلیحاتی پیشرفته‌ای، از جمله یک سامانه لیزری پیشرفته و سامانه گنبد آهنین را برای دفاع در برابر موشک‌ها و پهپادهای جمهوری اسلامی ارسال کرده است. این اقدام یکی از نخستین نمونه‌های همکاری عمده دفاعی میان دو کشور است.

❗️Russia’s Defense Ministry declared a May 8-9 ceasefire for Victory Day and threatened strikes on central Kyiv if Ukraine attempts to disrupt commemorations. It also warned civilians in Kyiv and foreign embassy staff to leave the city in time.

Zelensky says Ukraine received no official proposal for a May 9 ceasefire and called the idea of a short pause unserious. He pointed to deadly Russian strikes on Merefa and Dnipro, saying a temporary pause for a parade is unacceptable while attacks continue.

On 3 May, US President Donald Trump announced the military operation ‘Project Freedom’ in the Strait of Hormuz, with the aim of safely escorting and freeing ships and crews blocked in the strait due to tensions with Iran and the closure of the strait. What Trump has described as a “humanitarian gesture” could conceal the start of a military operation to take control of the strait, as has been speculated in recent weeks, which could be plausible following the arrival of naval and ground military reinforcements during April, with the deployment of around 15,000 troops alongside the arrival of aircraft carriers and destroyers, as well as other aircraft.

This morning, Iran launched multiple cruise missiles, drones and speedboats against Navy vessels and merchant ships under their protection; according to US media, they responded by destroying six Iranian speedboats with Apache and Seahawk helicopters, whilst Iranian media claim that two missiles struck a US Navy destroyer or frigate near the island of Jask.

Satellite footage published by Exilenova confirms: a recent strike on Russia’s Tuapse refinery and tank farm destroyed 4 of 4 tanks, each believed to hold 20,000 m³, removing about 80,000 m³ of oil or petroleum products. The hydrocracking and hydrotreating zones were also hit, damaging processing depth and product quality. A previously damaged pumping station burned out completely, disrupting internal transfer logistics.
