🇬🇧🇯🇵 UK Doubted Japan's Nuclear Ban Policy in 1985
Declassified British Foreign Ministry documents, released at the National Archives in London, show that UK officials in 1985 believed Japan's three non-nuclear principles had been "not clear or consistent" regarding port calls — particularly given that American and French vessels were already conducting visits. Britain was seeking permission for one of its own ships to enter Japanese ports, following a cancelled call by aircraft carrier Invincible over fears it carried nuclear weapons. British officials also stated they did not believe the US was informing Japan about nuclear weapons aboard visiting ships.
Japan's three non-nuclear principles — prohibiting possession, production, and introduction of nuclear arms — were first adopted in 1967 and carry particular weight as the only nation to have suffered atomic bombings. A 2010 Japanese Foreign Ministry investigation later confirmed a tacit agreement with Washington during the Cold War that effectively allowed US nuclear-armed ships to enter Japanese ports without prior consultation, rendering Japan's stated policy largely performative during that period.
Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who took office in October 2025, has not ruled out reviewing the non-nuclear principles amid deteriorating regional security conditions.

Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te has arrived in Eswatini for bilateral talks with King Mswati III and the signing of a customs agreement, days after a previously scheduled visit on 22–26 April was cancelled. Taiwan had accused Seychelles, Mauritius, and Madagascar of revoking flight permits for Lai's aircraft under Chinese pressure. The delegation includes Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung and National Security Council Adviser Alex Huang. The visit was not announced in advance by either government.

Об этом он заявил в итоговом заявлении для прессы по окончании саммита.
Пашинян также поблагодарил вице-президента Турции Джевдета Йылмаза за визит в Армению для участия в саммите.
«Сегодня успешно завершился форум, собравший лидеров со всего континента и за его пределами. Я хотел бы воспользоваться этой возможностью, чтобы выразить искреннюю благодарность Европейскому союзу за тесное сотрудничество и партнерство в организации саммита… Я также благодарен президенту Азербайджана за участие в онлайн-формате и вице-президенту Турции за присутствие с точки зрения мирных процессов и регионального сотрудничества», - заявил он.
По словам Пашиняна, дискуссии на саммите подтвердили, что в условиях растущих глобальных вызовов существует потребность в искреннем диалоге и практических решениях для укрепления мира и стабильности во всех регионах.
«Обсуждения еще раз подчеркнули важность регионального сотрудничества и потенциал открытых, интегрированных и связанных регионов для содействия расширению межконтинентальных связей. В этом контексте мы также затронули вопрос о важности укрепления мира и стабильности на Южном Кавказе. Прочный мир, нормализация отношений и открытие границ принесут пользу не только региону, но и укрепят взаимосвязанность и сотрудничество на более широком европейском пространстве и за его пределами», - заявил премьер Армении.

The town of Zawtar al-Gharbiya witnessed a humanitarian disaster last Saturday, when a Syrian family was struck by an Israeli drone strike targeting a pickup truck carrying a Syrian man and his family of at least four members, while they were attempting to flee from the river area outside Zawtar.
Al Jadeed reported that “ambulance and relief teams are still being prevented from reaching the strike site by the Israeli army, while initial information indicates that all members of the family have been martyred and are still inside the pickup truck.”

فرماندهی مرکزی ایالات متحده، «سنتکام»، روز دوشنبه ۱۴ اردبیهشت با انتشار پیامی در حساب کاربری خود در شبکه اجتماعی ایکس، ادعای رسانههای حکومتی ایران مبنی بر هدف قرار دادن یک ناوشکن آمریکایی با دو موشک سپاه پاسداران را به طور قاطع رد کرد.
در این پیام که تحت عنوان «راستیآزمایی» منتشر شده، آمده است که هیچ ناوشکن آمریکایی هدف قرار نگرفته است و سنتکام تأکید میکند که نیروی دریایی آمریکا از «پروژه آزادی [تنگه هرمز] » حمایت میکند و در حال اعمال محاصره دریایی بندرهای جمهوری اسلامی است.
پیشتر خبرگزاری فارس از قول منابعی در داخل سپاه پاسداران ادعا کرده بود که یک ناوشکن آمریکایی در هنگام عبور از تنگه هرمز در نزدیکی بندر جاسک پس از بیتوجهی به هشدارها مورد اصابت دو موشک قرار گرفت.
