🔻 Инженерно-сапёрные подразделения НОАК переходят на новый уровень технического оснащения. Если раньше основная нагрузка ложилась на бойцов с ранцевыми системами и бронемашины типа ZBL-08, то теперь внедряются беспилотные решения.
Одним из новшеств является грузовой квадракоптер DJI FlyCart 100, способный доставлять до 80 кг полезной нагрузки на расстояние до 6 км. При использовании двойной батареи он покрывает до 12 км с грузом 65 кг и до 26 км без нагрузки. Это позволяет выносить опасные операции за пределы непосредственного контакта человека с угрозой.
В связке с дроном применяется дистанционно управляемая колесная платформа 8x8, оснащённая ранцевой системой для запуска детонирующего рукава. Такая система способна подойти к минному полю, развернуться и запустить детонирующий рукав для подрыва минного поля. Весь риск переносится с человека на машину.
Практический эффект очевиден: снижение потерь, повышение скорости разминирования и возможность работы в сложных условиях. Подразделения получают мобильность и гибкость. Технологии начинают выполнять самую опасную часть работы, оставляя человеку контроль и принятие решений.
Тенденция однозначна: использование беспилотных платформ превращает разминирование из ручной и рискованной задачи в управляемую операцию. В современных условиях именно такой подход становится стандартом обеспечения безопасности на поле боя.

🇨🇩 US sanctions former DRC president Kabila over alleged ties to M23 rebels
The United States sanctioned former Democratic Republic of Congo president Joseph Kabila on 30 April 2026, accusing him of sowing instability by supporting the M23 armed group and its political wing the AFC. The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) added Kabila to its sanctions blacklist, freezing any US-held assets and barring American citizens and companies from conducting business with him. The US statement noted that Kabila had lived under M23 protection in Goma, the group's stronghold in eastern DRC, in 2025. Kabila served as DRC president from 2001 to 2019.
The move follows earlier US sanctions on the Rwandan military over its support for AFC/M23 rebels, as Washington escalates economic pressure over the ongoing conflict in eastern Congo.

Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi and Australian PM Anthony Albanese met in Canberra on May 4, issuing five outcome documents including a joint declaration on economic security, with commitments to secure stable supplies of critical minerals, energy, and food. Both leaders cited concerns over export restrictions on rare earths — a direct reference to China's tightened controls — and disruptions to oil flows linked to the U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict.
China mines roughly 70% of global rare earths and refines ~90%, leaving Japan heavily exposed. Beijing's recent dual-use export restrictions are widely linked to Takaichi's November parliamentary remarks on potential SDF deployment in a Taiwan contingency. Australia, Japan's largest LNG supplier and a major rare earth producer, faces its own import vulnerabilities following decades of domestic refinery closures. The two sides also confirmed contracts for the first three of 11 Mogami-class frigates to be jointly delivered for the Australian navy.
The leaders agreed to develop concrete measures ahead of their next meeting to institutionalize comprehensive security cooperation, spanning defense, cybersecurity, and economic security.

Zimbabwe's Vice President Constantino Chiwenga broke publicly with President Emmerson Mnangagwa on 25 April 2026, speaking at a Roman Catholic gathering in Murewa, Mashonaland East Province. Without naming Mnangagwa directly, Chiwenga invoked the biblical story of King Hezekiah — a ruler whose extended reign led to his kingdom's unravelling — in remarks widely interpreted as opposition to moves to extend the president's term to 2030. Parliament is currently considering the Constitutional Amendment (No 3) Bill, which would scrap the 2028 elections, extend Mnangagwa's rule by at least two years, and shift presidential selection from voters to parliament.
The bill directly threatens Chiwenga's own political ambitions. Long positioned as a leading contender for the 2028 succession, he has yet to secure Mnangagwa's endorsement, and the proposed amendment would effectively close that path.
