Moving to qualified majority voting in foreign policy is an important way to avoid systematic blockages as we've seen in the past.
We should use the momentum now really to move forward on that topic.
The people of Hungary have spoken, and they have reclaimed their European path.
Our union is stronger and more united; it was an exceptional evening yesterday.

🇰🇷🇵🇱 Seoul, Warsaw Upgrade Ties to Strategic Partnership
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk agreed on April 13 to elevate bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, with defense industry cooperation and energy supply chains identified as priority areas. Tusk's visit to Seoul marked the first trip to South Korea by a Polish prime minister in 27 years.
Defense trade anchors the relationship. Poland signed a $44.2 billion framework agreement in 2022 to purchase K2 tanks, K9 howitzers, FA-50 aircraft, and Chunmoo rocket systems. In December, Poland concluded an additional $4 billion contract with Hanwha Aerospace to acquire further Chunmoo batteries.
The two leaders also agreed to broaden cooperation to infrastructure, science, and technology. Lee called on Poland to support Korean firms involved in EV battery production and requested Polish attention to South Korean participation in a new airport construction project and the Warsaw tram replacement program.

“The Hungarians have made their choice. We respect this choice. We look forward to continuing our very pragmatic contacts with the new Hungarian leadership,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
“We have heard statements about a willingness to engage in dialogue (Tisza party leader Péter Magyar previously said he allows for the possibility of negotiations with Putin, since the countries will remain geographically close, and Hungary’s energy dependence on Russia ‘will persist for some time’ — ed.). Of course, this will be beneficial for both Moscow and Budapest.
We are interested in building good relations with all European countries.
We know that, unfortunately, reciprocity is not yet possible with European countries, but Russia is open to dialogue,” Peskov said.
He also declined to comment on the prospects for resuming Russian oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline.
“You need to ask Hungary and someone else in Europe about this. Russia is and will remain one of the most reliable energy suppliers in the world,” he told reporters.
Responding to a question about the possible unblocking of a €90 billion loan to Ukraine, Peskov said:
“This is a decision that will be made in Brussels.
We believe that any actions aimed at further fueling the Kyiv regime’s militaristic and pro-war aspirations are steps that do not contribute to the search for a peaceful settlement.
However, the Europeans are not hiding their general line of continuing this war.
We are committed to achieving our goals in the context of Ukraine through political and diplomatic negotiations.
But until these negotiations yield results, the ‘SVO’ continues.”
Putin’s special representative, Kirill Dmitriev, said that the results of the Hungarian elections “will only accelerate the disintegration of the EU” and invited his followers on X to check whether he is right “in four months.”
