دانشگاه صنعتی شریف در تهران بامداد دوشنبه ۱۷ فروردین هدف حمله قرار گرفت. رئیس دانشگاه ساعاتی بعد بدون اشاره به جزئیات گفت که «یک نهاد علمی» این دانشگاه هدف این حمله بوده و بخشهایی از ساختمان آسیب دیده است.
رسانههای پیش از این خبر داده بودند که پست گاز دانشگاه شریف مورد اصابت پرتابه قرار گرفته و گاز منطقه قطع شده اما ساعاتی بعد اعلام شد که جریان گاز برقرار شده است.
