🇲🇾🇮🇷 Iran Clears Seven Malaysian Ships to Transit

Malaysia's Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan stated on March 28 that seven Malaysian ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz would be permitted to depart. The clearance followed direct calls between Hasan and his Iranian counterpart, and between Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Iran's government agreed to open a transit window for the tankers, with Hasan indicating departure could occur at any time. A Malaysian cargo vessel carrying fertiliser had already been granted passage separately ahead of the others.

The stranded vessels are owned by Petronas, MISC, Sapura Energy and other companies. Approximately 2,000 commercial ships in total are currently held up in the vicinity of the strait.

Ukraine’s P-5 Flamingo missiles struck the Promsintez plant in Chapaevsk, Samara region, which produces explosive components for munitions, bombs and missiles. A hit and a follow-up blast in the production area were confirmed.

🇺🇦🇶🇦 Zelensky: I met with the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in Doha. The Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, was also present at the meeting.

We discussed issues that could further strengthen the protection of life in both countries and agreed on a mutually beneficial partnership in the defense sector for at least 10 years.

Following the meeting, our Chiefs of the General Staff signed an agreement, which provides for joint defense industry projects, the establishment of co-production facilities, and technological partnerships between companies.

Strengthening air defense is a priority for us, and we count on support from our partners.
