🇨🇳🇯🇵 Beijing Tells Japan to Correct Course

Japanese company executives were not invited to the China Development Forum held in Beijing on March 22–23, with nearly 80 foreign business leaders attending — the largest contingent from the United States. According to the South China Morning Post, Japanese executives were excluded due to sustained tensions in bilateral relations.

China's Commerce Ministry spokesperson He Yongqian, speaking at a regular press briefing on March 26, said China remains committed to high-level opening-up and building a market-oriented, rules-based business environment. She cited a recent Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China survey indicating that Japanese firms operating in China reported generally improving conditions and sustained satisfaction with the business environment.

He Yongqian stated that stable and healthy China-Japan economic and trade relations serve the common interests of both countries' peoples. China's Commerce Ministry urged the Japanese government to reflect on and correct its conduct in order to create conditions for normal bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
