🇱🇾 Damaged Russian tanker drifting toward Libyan coast, Italian official warns

A damaged and unmanned Russian LNG tanker that has been adrift in the Mediterranean Sea for more than two weeks is now four to six days from the shores of Libya, an Italian official stated on Friday March 20, 2026. The vessel poses a significant risk of an ecological disaster if it runs aground or breaks apart before salvage operations can be conducted.

The tanker is among several vessels linked to Russia's shadow fleet operating in the Mediterranean, a waterway that has seen heightened naval activity in recent months.

🤬 The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don has sentenced three teenagers from temporarily occupied Melitopol, who were accused of "terrorism".

The children from the occupied territory were tried as citizens of the Russian Federation.

The teenagers were "sentenced" to considerable terms:

▪️ Viktor Azarovskyi received 8 years and 6 months in prison;

▪️ Oleh Shokol - 7 years and 6 months;

▪️ Denis Vasylyk - 7 years.

Earlier, Viktor Azarovsky's lawyer Kateryna Bobrovska told Radio Svoboda that the boy was detained by people in masks and balaclavas, and the child was dragged into a car - according to journalists, this happened on October 31, 2023.

Oleh Shokol and Denys Vasylyk were detained a day or two earlier - at the time of their detention, the boys were only 16-17 years old.

For more than two years, the teenagers were illegally detained in inappropriate conditions, subjected to beatings, torture, and psychological pressure.

They were transferred between places of detention - in particular, to SIZO No. 2 in Mariupol and SIZO No. 2 in Taganrog, known for the cruel treatment of Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war.

Viktoria Roshchina, a freelance writer for Ukrainska Pravda, was held captive there. In 2024, it became known that she died in Russian custody.
