🇺🇸🌎💥 — The U.S. Southern Command outlined a strategy for Latin America focused on applying maximum pressure against cartels and terrorist networks, countering the influence of adversarial powers, and strengthening strategic control in the region. The plan seeks to modernize forces and protect key points such as the Panama Canal against growing threats.

Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan's four imperatives:

1️⃣ Strengthen hemispheric command and control.

2️⃣ Impose total systemic friction on drug cartels and terrorist networks.

3️⃣ Develop and field cost-effective, modernized forces tailored for the mission.

4️⃣ Deny adversary footholds and undue influence in the Western Hemisphere.

During testimony before the House Armed Services Committee today, Gen. Donovan described his four imperatives to evolve the command to address threats in Latin America and the Caribbean.
