Die Regierung von Ministerpräsident Donald Tusk erklärt, sie werde sicherstellen, dass Gelder des sogenannten Safe-Programms ihren Weg nach Polen fänden, wenn auch über komplexere Regelungen. "Das Veto des Präsidenten wird uns nicht aufhalten", teilt Tusk mit. Die Regierung verurteilt das Veto des Präsidenten als "Verrat" an Polen und seinen Sicherheitsinteressen. "Jeder Soldat, der einen neuen Panzer, ein neues Gewehr, eine neue Drohne, ein Anti-Drohnen-System zur Abwehr russischer Drohnen erhält, wird sich daran erinnern müssen, wer sie ihm nicht geben wollte", sagt Außenminister Radoslaw Sikorski. Nawrocki, der der nationalkonservativen Oppositionspartei PiS nahe steht, hatte am Donnerstag bekannt gegeben, er werde das entsprechende Gesetz nicht unterzeichnen. Das polnische Parlament hatte Ende Februar für die Annahme eines solchen EU-Darlehens in Höhe von 44 Milliarden Euro aus dem EU-Programm "Security Action for Europe" (Safe) votiert. Mit dem Geld sollen Luft- und Raketenabwehrsysteme, Anti-Drohnen-Technik und andere Rüstungsgüter finanziert werden. Auch Polizei, Grenzschutz sowie Straßen- und Schienenprojekte sollen Mittel aus dem Programm erhalten.
