Der staatliche ukrainische Öl- und Gaskonzern Naftogaz gewinnt vor einem Schweizer Gericht einen Rechtsstreit gegen den russischen Energiekonzern Gazprom. Damit ist der Weg für die Zahlung von mehr als 1,4 Milliarden US-Dollar (1,22 Mrd. Euro) durch das russische Unternehmen geebnet. Naftogaz hatte 2022 ein Verfahren gegen Gazprom angestrengt, nachdem sich der russische Energieriese geweigert hatte, das ukrainische Unternehmen für den Transit von russischem Gas über eine alternative Route vollständig zu bezahlen - dies geschah vor dem Hintergrund logistischer Herausforderungen, die durch Russlands Invasion verursacht wurden und einen Verstoß gegen vertragliche Verpflichtungen darstellten. Ein internationales Gericht sprach Naftogaz im Juni 2025 Schulden in Höhe von 1,37 Milliarden US-Dollar zu. Gazprom beantragte daraufhin die Aufhebung des Urteils, was durch die heutige Entscheidung abgelehnt wurde, teilt Naftogaz in einer Erklärung mit. Das Gericht verurteilt Gazprom zudem zur Zahlung zusätzlicher Kosten zur Deckung von Gerichtsgebühren und sonstigen Kosten in Höhe von insgesamt 450.000 Schweizer Franken (knapp 500.000 Euro) sowie von Zinsen, so Naftogaz.
