Ukraine’s air defenses shot down or suppressed 106 of 120 attack drones launched overnight, along with one Iskander-M ballistic missile fired from Russia’s Voronezh region. Impacts were recorded at 11 locations, debris fell at 8 sites.

Russia has begun selling gold from its reserves. In January, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation reduced its gold holdings for the first time in a long period, taking advantage of a surge in global prices to a historic high, Bloomberg reports.

According to the publication, Russia’s gold reserves decreased by 300,000 ounces to 74.5 million ounces. This is the first recorded decline since October last year.

In January, the average gold price stood at $4,700 per ounce. Preliminary estimates suggest the move could bring about $1.4 billion to the Russian budget.

Despite the physical reduction in volume, the monetary value of the remaining reserves rose by 23% due to record gold prices.
