Vermutlich habe der 60-Jährige für Russland spioniert, schreibt das Nachrichtenportal "Onet" unter Berufung auf eigene Quellen im Militär. Der Verdächtige habe seit den 1990er Jahren auf Posten der mittleren Führungsebene in der Strategie- und Planungsabteilung gearbeitet. Der mutmaßliche Agent sei durch die militärische Spionageabwehr enttarnt worden, an der Festnahme seien Militärpolizei und -Staatsanwaltschaft beteiligt gewesen, heißt es in der Mitteilung des Ministeriums. Einen solch außergewöhnlichen Fall im sensiblen Bereich des Verteidigungsministeriums habe es seit Jahren nicht gegeben, zitiert "Onet" seine Gesprächspartner. Weitere Festnahmen seien nicht ausgeschlossen.

The Welt cites a statement from the Prosecutor General's Office that a 37-year-old Romanian and a 54-year-old Greek citizen were arrested in Hamburg and Greece. They are suspected of sabotaging technical systems on board German ships while working in the port.
