«علیاکبر پورجمشیدیان»، معاون امنیتی وزارت کشور که همزمان دبیر شورای امنیت کشور نیز هست، در برنامهای در سیمای جمهوری اسلامی تایید کرد که «زمان وصل شدن دوباره اینترنت مشخص نیست.»
بیش از سیصد ساعت است که دسترسی بیش از ۹۰ میلیون ایرانی به اینترنت قطع شده است.
«داگ موردی» (Doug Madory) کارشناس حوزه تحلیل زیرساخت اینترنت جهانی، در رابطه با نحوی قطع اینترنت توسط جمهوری اسلامی در حساب کاربریاش در شبکه ایکس نوشت: «ایران در حال تجربه یکی از شدیدترین قطعهای اینترنت در جهان است. در این خاموشی، برخلاف قطعهای کلاسیک، مسیرهای اصلی اینترنت (IPv4) از BGP حذف نشدند؛ یعنی کشور از نظر فنی قابل دسترس باقی ماند، اما ترافیک عملاً در لبه شبکه مسدود شد.»
پیش از این، حسین افشین، معاون علمی رییس جمهوری، گفته بود که «اینترنت کشور تا آخر هفته جاری، یعنی تا دو روز دیگر، به وضعیت عادی برمیگردد.»
مسعود پزشکیان، رییس جمهوری، اوایل هفته جاری به علی لاریجانی، دبیر شورای عالی امنیت ملی، «توصیه» کرده بود که «در اسرع وقت محدودیت اینترنت برطرف شود.»
