The US State Department condemned Iran’s plan to execute 19-year-old Amirhossein Ghaderzadeh, arrested during protests in Rasht. In a post, it said his death sentence for peaceful protest “shows how far the regime will go to silence its people.” The statement said Iran’s rulers “prefer to execute their youth rather than listen to them,” urging Tehran to stop the execution and free all peaceful protesters.

US-Präsident Donald Trump will nach eigenen Angaben den ukrainischen Staatschef Wolodymyr Selenskyj noch am heutigen Mittwoch treffen. Er glaube, dass der ukrainische Präsident einen Deal machen wolle, behauptete Trump beim Weltwirtschaftsforum im Schweizer Alpenort Davos. "Ich denke, ich kann sagen, dass wir einigermaßen nah dran sind." Der Republikaner wiederholte seine Forderung, dass der seit fast vier Jahren andauernde Ukraine-Krieg enden müsse. Das ukrainische Portal "Jewropejska Prawda" bezeichnete ein Treffen in Davos als möglich, aber nicht mehr am Mittwoch. Selenskyj selbst hatte bereits am Dienstag angekündigt, dass er wegen der andauernden russischen Angriffe aus der Luft viel im eigenen Land zu tun habe und deswegen nur in die Schweiz reisen werde, wenn es ein unterschriftsreifes Dokument gebe oder weitere Hilfszusagen etwa zur Lieferung von Flugabwehrwaffen.

"I'm unpopular with you now because I defend Donald Trump, but I truly believe we can be glad he's here, because he's forced us in Europe to step up and face the consequences—the need to be more concerned about our own defense. Without Donald Trump, this would never have happened," Rutte emphasized.

"I plan to meet with Zelenskyy later today. I believe they are at a point where they can sit down at the table and make a deal." - Trump.

He also added that it would be stupid of them not to do so.

I'm sorry, but I think that someone who shows Kupiansk under complete Ukrainian control is not in a position to criticize other mappers. Perhaps the farce is of your own making by using only Ukrainian reports. Suriyakmaps shows Kupiansk as a disputed area, based on the use of both Ukrainian and Russian sources.
The desperation of the Ukrainian mappers to attack is admirable.

دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، با اشاره به توافق صلح غزه گفت اگر آمریکا به تاسیسات هسته‌ای جمهوری اسلامی حمله نکرده بود، اکنون صلحی در خاورمیانه وجود نداشت. او افزود جمهوری اسلامی دیگر «قلدر» خاورمیانه نیست و کشورها از آن نمی‌ترسند.

رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا با توصیف نقش جمهوری اسلامی در منطقه گفت: «ما یک قلدر داشتیم؛ آن قلدر ایران بود، قلدر خاورمیانه. سال‌ها به آن این‌طور می‌گفتند. ایران قلدر خاورمیانه بود، اما دیگر قلدر خاورمیانه نیست.»

ترامپ حمله به تاسیسات اتمی جمهوری اسلامی را عامل اصلی شکل‌گیری توافق صلح دانست و افزود: «کاری که انجام دادیم فوق‌العاده بود و به‌خاطر همان کار بود که توانستیم صلح برقرار کنیم. اگر این کار را نکرده بودیم هیچ شانسی برای صلح وجود نداشت، چون کشورهایی که نام بردم و کشورهای دیگر هرگز نمی‌توانستند توافقی را امضا کنند. آن‌ها می‌ترسیدند. واقعا می‌ترسیدند.»

او در ادامه گفت اگر آمریکا دست به این اقدام نمی‌زد، جمهوری اسلامی ظرف دو ماه به سلاح هسته‌ای می‌رسید. ترامپ افزود: «آن‌ها خیلی به داشتن سلاح هسته‌ای نزدیک بودند و ما ضربه سختی به آن‌ها زدیم و این یک نابودی کامل بود.»
