Albuquerque Teachers Federation is thrilled with the NM midterms. It’s amazing to me that we let these clearly partisan “nonpartisan” unions represent public sector employees. I’m not a member, but they represent me by default.

TEACHER TRAINING IN TRANS CULTURAL FLUENCY TRAINING 🧐🧐🧐: Albuquerque Public Schools paid $50 to teachers who attended.
The class was ostensibly aimed at helping teachers support trans students. However, the class included many UNSUBSTANTIATED CLAIMS AND IDEOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK including:
• Sexual organs are irrelevant to a person's gender.
• A boy who plays with dolls is not actually a boy but is non-binary instead. A girl who wants to play football is not actually a girl but is non-binary instead.
• Addressing trans students by the name and pronouns they were assigned at birth is disrespectful, and teachers were advised to model language and behavior.
• Society is to blame for the mental health problems and suicides of trans students.
• Using puberty blockers just pauses puberty while the child decides which puberty to go through.

Temple has appeared on numerous shows across platforms, such as 20/20, Larry King Live, and Prime Time. Grandin is an accomplished author, with books such as Thinking in Pictures, Livestock Handling and Transport, and The Autistic Brain. A few of her other publications, Animals in Translation, as well as Visual Thinking, have even made it to the New York Times Bestseller List. In 2017, Grandin was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame, and in 2022 she was honored once again as a Colorado State Distinguished Professor.
