With the Merge being this week's hot topic, everyone is trying to foresee what changes it will bring to the market.
Many predict that if the Merge is widely successful, the potential uptrend might take $ETH straight into price discovery ahead of $BTC.
What comes next is a phenomenon that we're talking about today on the Nimbus glossary: the Flippening!
The flippening is determined using the market cap as a primary metric, although others can be included as well, like trading volume, active addresses, transaction count, etc.
Right now, BTC leads the chart in market cap, but the difference has decreased these last few years. And with ETH's price rising faster than BTC's during the last few months, the flippening seems possible.
The price alone could cause the flippening. But the total coins that are in circulation also matter. An increased supply of ETH could also be the trigger, and Ethereum cannot be limited by max. Supply that can be created, like Bitcoin.

1. CZ` 's first real job was at McDonalds.
Since he didn't have any allowance growing up, he enjoyed the job because he could earn and spend his own money.
2. CZ didn't really know what he wanted to do at 18/19 years old. He first studied biology before turning to computer programming and science.
3. CZ worked in many different places, including Tokyo, NY, Singapore, and Shanghai.
When he tried to transfer money upon moving, he always encountered the same problems: it was complicated and the high fees were never worth it.
4. After discovering that the financial system doesn’t work well across borders, CZ came across Bitcoin in mid-2013.
He understood the concept quickly, as BTC solved the many problems CZ had already encountered.
5. He started Binance in 2017 with a team of about 20 people.
According to CZ, starting early isn't always an advantage. The most important is being able to pivot very quickly.
