In DeFi, stake lending is common practice, and the liquidation mechanism is used to reduce the risk for the protocol and keep the system stable so it can continue to work properly.
With margin trading, liquidation happens when the trader’s margin account goes under a previously set level.
Generally speaking, liquidation can also mean selling assets for cash to reduce losses, for example, if a market crash happens.

😱 A big oopsie from Crypto․com… In 2021, an employee transferred $10.5 million to a woman from Australia instead of refunding $100. The mistake was discovered only 7 months later during the audit!
😜 Time to move to the Middle East. Qatar's central bank has issued its first license for digital payments services to iPay by Vodafone Qatar and Ooredoo Money. The regulator believes this step will enhance the development of the financial technology sector in the country.
👌 As for Web 3.0, Hermès has filed a trademark application for its name and plans to enter the metaverse and NFT world. Earlier, Hooters, Taco Bell, KFC, Burger King, Panera Bread, McDonald’s, Wingstop, Panda Express, and Tyson Foods have expressed interest in the metaverse.
