Meet our new Community Manager!

Luis Diaz has been a community member since the inception of the Nimbus Platform back in the early 2020. His belief and enthusiasm have been perpetually growing with the platform’s journey. He has always remained active within the community guiding his fellow members, working hand in hand with our admin — @Viktor_Nimbus_Support.

Today, Luis is joining the Nimbus Team as a Community Manager and moderator of the Spanish community on Discord. Luis is tasked with the role of moderating the chat and interacting with members to maintain positive engagement and real-time problem solving.

👀 Ethereum net continues to evolve – yet another upgrade called Altair took place this week. Long story short, the Ethereum network suffered two important changes: It added support for “light clients,” or lower-powered devices like mobile phones that can verify transactions, which furthers the decentralization of Ethereum, and it increased penalties for validators who are inactive or frequently offline, among other things.

✔️ In the traditional economy, on the other hand, it was Visa Inc. that stood out this week. To be more precise, the company’s crypto team collaborated with a cryptocurrency custodian BlockFi and a Palo-Alto-based credit-card startup Deserve to launch a crypto rewards credit card that would appeal to crypto enthusiasts and introduce crypto to the masses. It should also be mentioned that Mastercard also invested in Deserve in June in a $50 million funding round that valued the company at more than $500 million.

🔜 Finally, yet importantly, Twitter is working on a tab that will show off a user's NFT collection. On top of that, Jane Manchun Wong, a Hong Kong-based technology researcher and software engineer has revealed plans that Twitter is testing out its tipping feature on Android devices. Thus, we could say that crypto integration is gaining momentum and apparently, nothing can stop it.

Here are some interesting facts about DAOs:
✅ DAOs may have different purposes for their existence. Depending on that purpose, their members may also have different decision-making power related to diverse aspects of the organization. The key goal here is to establish a balanced system that would address the original goal of creating such a DAO and be sustainable in the long-run.
✅ Initially, Bitcoin was considered the 1st project that was close to being a DAO until Ethereum and its smart contract technology were launched.
✅ Governance tokens stand at the heart of implementing the powers that a DAO enables to a community. GNBU is an example of such token.

👀Have you ever thought of receiving a part of your salary in Bitcoin? Miami Mayor Francis Suarez announced earlier this week that he’ll take his next paycheck entirely in the cryptocurrency. By the way, did you know that last month Mr. Suarez said that he’s working on a plan that would allow Miami to pay city workers in bitcoin?

🙌Why Bitcoin? Most probably because of the high level of liquidity. Thus, eventually authorities might start accepting alternative altcoins. However, they should take more precautions when choosing the coins to work with as the market is still full of “dummies” that are worth nothing. One of the perfect examples would be Squid Game token, which crashed to zero as developers make off with $3.4M. According to some reports, over 40,000 investors have lost their money in the rug pull.

🦾In terms of opportunities, on the other hand, the SEC might soon approve an ETF based on Ethereum futures. VanEck was the first fund manager this year to apply for an Ethereum Trust in May, which would physically hold the crypto asset. However, before that, the regulator has to clarify whether ETH is or is not a security.

🕶In the meantime, the NFT market continues to gain momentum. Film director Quentin Tarantino is auctioning off seven never-before-seen “Pulp Fiction" scenes as NFTs. Each token will contain “secret" content that’s only revealable to its owner. Who will be next?

The Nimbus Lend & Borrow dApps will be temporarily dismissed from the Ethereum network, effective today (November 11th, 2021). For the time being, these dApps will function solely on the Binance Smart Chain network.

Why? Because on the one hand, we see that due to the high gas fees, you use these dApps on BSC. On the other hand, while the functionality on Ethereum remains unused, it takes too many resources for contract republishing as we improve these dApps.

🤑It was a week full of records. First thing first, Bitcoin surged to new highs for the first time after inflation data bolstered the argument that the cryptocurrency is a hedge against rising cost pressures. Other coins also rose, with the Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index improving as much as 2.4% to its highest level since May.

🙈Secondly, ProShares’ Bitcoin futures exchange-traded fund rose to the top 2% of all ETFs in terms of the total trading volume. Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas noted on Thursday that the instrument had $400 million worth of shares traded on Wednesday, with its average volume consistently putting it in the top 2% of all ETFs.

🥇Finally yet importantly, digital asset manager Grayscale has topped $60 billion in assets under management, surpassing the SPDR Gold Shares, the largest and most liquid gold exchange-traded fund in the world. According to the firm's Wednesday update, Grayscale now controls $60.8 billion in AUM, compared to SDPR Gold Shares' current AUM of $58.3 billion.

🍏Another curious fact the crypto community learned this week was that Apple CEO Tim Cook personally owns cryptocurrencies, using digital assets to diversify his investment portfolio. Should we expect a crypto integration in the Apple devices any time soon?

♾ Metaverse, an alternate digital reality, is rapidly becoming the new black. Since Facebook rebranded to Meta, markets were talking about nothing else but opportunities in the newborn sector. Many believe that the metaverse could increase the need for digital native currencies like cryptos. By the way, Meta Platforms recently launched a crypto wallet project called Novi. Overall we can say that now begins the race to build the best metaverse with a supporting digital asset experience.

💲Another great news for the crypto industry came from Galaxy Digital, technology-driven financial services and investment management firm, and TIME - a global media brand. Both companies partnered combining the Power of Media and the Metaverse to Educate Readers. TIME will leverage Galaxy Digital's deep expertise in virtual worlds to assist in explaining the metaverse and its exciting potential for the future. It should be noted that true to its crypto and Web3 focus, Galaxy Digital financed this partnership with Ether.

🧠 Regarding the DeFi industry, in its latest research note, banking giant JPMorgan stated that the decentralized finance sector has plenty of room for growth. Chief analyst Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou writes that the sector is still in its infancy: “There is little doubt that DeFi is still at early stages and thus has a lot of potential to grow over time”.

Without further ado, let's look at the progress made!

✅ Bridge between Nimbus LP staking section and PancakeSwap:
Now you can provide liquidity to NBU & GNBU (BEP-20) pairs on PancakeSwap but stake the LP tokens that you receive in return on the Nimbus Platform. This way, you can receive both your swap rewards from the PancakeSwap trading and from the LP staking, at 100% APY — yay! A similar bridge was also established with the Uniswap. This means you can benefit from a similar feature by providing liquidity in the ERC-20 tokens as well.

🚨Note — Make sure you use the same wallet in both PancakeSwap or Uniswap and the Nimbus Platform: otherwise the bridge won’t work.

✅ Analytics Page (Backend):
In one of the previous sprints, we informed you about improving data on the analytics page by substituting the Subgraph with our own novel code. The work for the same on the backend has been completed, and we will no longer be using the Subgraph since all the data will be taken from our own backend. This means you will now have extremely accurate analytics to make well-informed real-time decisions on the Nimbus Platform.

✅ Support Clearance:
And as for the Nimbus support clearance, out of 77 support tickets received, 68 have been resolved successfully.

We saved the best for the last!

✅ Nimbus NFT token:
NFTs are changing both cultural and economic experiences for collectors and creators. As a holistic ecosystem, it seems natural to introduce NFT as a functionality on the Nimbus Platform. Hence, your team has been working on the Nimbus NFT token for the past few months, which will provide users with easy access to even more reward streams! We have finalized the smart contracts, and they are under auditing at the moment. The NFT token is coming sooner than you would expect! Stay tuned!

Since your Nimbus platform employs its own bridge (Wrap Machine) across ETH and BSC, our community should be aware of the essential basics.

Hence, the Nimbus Glossary presents you the term — ✨Bridge✨

Here are some useful facts about bridges in DeFi:

✅ Blockchain bridges usually connect 2 completely different blockchains, but they can also be used to bridge side chains to their source blockchain as well (unlike bridges between two blockchains, sidechain bridges connects a parent blockchain to its child chain. Since the parent and child chains operate under different consensus, communications between them require a bridge.)
✅ On the Nimbus platform, you can use the Wrap Machine (bridge) to exchange ERC-20 (ETH) to BEP-20 (BSC) NBU or GNBU tokens and vice versa! Moreover, since it converts ERC-20 to BEP-20 tokens and vice versa at a 1:1 ratio, it allows users to exchang.
