Yesterday we released the definition of the term “Slippage” and a contest for you to win rewards while you learn!🎓

Now that you’re all familiar with this term’s meaning, here’s how you can benefit from this knowledge👇

💡While interacting with the Nimbus Swap, you can set the maximum acceptable slippage to receive the desired exchange outcome.

All you have to do is simply click on the “Settings” section of the platform’s main menu and set a slippage tolerance there!😎

Here’s an example:
Let’s say you want to exchange BNB to NBU and you set 1% slippage. This means that if the exchange rate changes by more than 1% before the transaction gets confirmed on the blockchain, the transaction will be automatically canceled. This way you will receive precisely the assets that you expected and won't end up with an unfavorable rate. Yay!

😎Without any doubt the most important event of the past week was Ethereum's London Fork Update, which aims to change the way transaction fees, or “gas fees,” are estimated. In other words, from now on, users will pay a "base fee," which will be determined by the network business. They will also be able to pay a miner a "tip" to have their transaction processed sooner. Additionally, some investors believe that the new update will limit the supply of ETH, thus causing an explosive growth of the coin.

🥳Another great news was that Google finally lifted the prohibition of crypto ads after the company revised its policies in June. On the other hand, crypto trading signals, crypto investment advice, and aggregators or affiliate sites that contain related content still will be banned from advertising.

🤑Last but not least, French investment manager Melanion Capital announced its plans to unveil bitcoin equities ETF that offer exposure to companies with high revenue exposure to the cryptocurrency.

💡Important tip!

It is easy to confuse "Slippage" and "Price Impact" with each other as they are often used interchangeably. The key difference between the two terms is the following:

✅ Slippage occurs for a particular trade due to the changing market conditions between the moment a transaction was submitted to the moment when it gets verified. Meaning Slippage affects your own trade - so watch out!

✅ On the other hand, Price impact occurs for the whole market after a trade has been made. In other words, it does not affect your particular trade - but does affect the following ones, so take it into consideration if you’re planning on making several trades in a row.

🧠Another Week, Another Rollercoaster for the crypto industry. This time, markets have been hit by the news that anonymous hackers carried out one the biggest theft ever in the world of decentralized finance, stealing around $600 million from a protocol known as PolyNetwork that lets users swap tokens across multiple blockchains. The good news is that the very next day cyber criminals decided to return the stolen funds. One of the reasons could be the fact that a blockchain security firm SlowMist was able to track the attacker via a trail of digital evidence left behind.

Cardano tokens skyrocketed over 40% this week in anticipation of the network's smart contract capability finally launching. The crypto community has been expecting this since 2017! Why? These smart contracts will allow to build dApps on Cardano, opening up a variety of potential uses for the blockchain.

👽Finally, it appears that Lionel Messi's transfer to French club Paris St Germain included a payment in cryptocurrency fan tokens, providing another big-name endorsement for new digital assets. It should be noted that among the clubs to launch tokens this year are English Premier League champions Manchester City and Italy's AC Milan. Why? The reason is very simple – they allow to engage fans and drive revenue at the same time.

👾 White hats are gaining popularity in the crypto industry. This time a hacker operating under the pseudonym “Samzcsun” prevented the potential theft of $350 Million from DeFi project SushiSwap. Long story short, he noticed a flaw in one of MISO’s batching libraries. Thankfully, he contacted the SushiSwap team and several third-party experts to urge them about the security breach.

🤖 The lesson is simple — there are no limits to perfection, which is why we constantly try to improve our platform. Vitalik Buterin, on the other hand, believes that token-based decentralized governance is holding DeFi back. Alternatively, he suggested an exploration of “Proof-of-Humanity”-based governance systems where one vote was allocated per each of a protocol’s users.

😺 Finally, former US Treasury Department Criminal Investigator Greg Monahan has joined Binance as Anti-Money Laundering Officer. His task will be to strengthen the organization's relationship with regulatory and law enforcement agencies around the world. Also, in case you missed it, Nimbus also looks forward to helping regulators make the DeFi industry more transparent and fair.
