DAOs are internet-native organizations where the decisional and management power is in the hands of their members. The foundational rules are set in smart contracts that also execute the decisions made by the token holders.

- Transparent
- Built-in treasury only accessible with members’ approval
- Decisions made through proposals and voting
- No hierarchical structure
DAOs are built on open-source blockchains, so anyone can view their code or audit the built-in treasuries. They are fully transparent, and all transactions are recorded on the blockchain.
The main advantage of a DAO is that members don’t need to trust another party; they only need to trust the code. And the code is heavily tested and verifiable.
