[TUT/WIN] Setting Up Partitions for emuMMC with Hekate5.0/NYX
Warning!By following this tutorial you will format your SD card, deleting everything that is saved on it. Make sure to backup the contents of your SD card beforehand. Also formatting the wrong drive (PC drive) will mess things up big time. Make very sure that you know which drive is you SD Card!This is not a comprehensive emuMMC tutorial, i'm pretty much just covering the partition setup.connect your SD card to your PCpress WIN+R and type in diskmgmt.msc then hit OKlocate your SD Card and delete all partitions on that disk (should only be 1 partition)right click on the SD card and select "New Simple Volume". click next untill you can define the size of the volume.Take the suggested numer and subtract 29828. use the resulting number as the size for the volume and create it. You will end up with one partition at the beginning and unallocated space at the end.right click the unallocated space and select "New Simple Volume" click next, leave the suggested size, next, next, select "Do not format this volume", next, finish.now we have our 2 partitions, but we still need to format our first partition to FAT32 using guiformatright click the guiformat exe and select start as administrator (not sure if necessary)under "Drive" select the first partition we just created (use Drive letter for orientation), select 32768 allocation size, quick format checked and hit start.DONEPlace all your atmosphere/hekate/NYX files onto the first partition, as this partition will be your regular SD card. The second partition will become your emuMMC. Boot into Hekate5.0/NYX select emuMMC > Create emuMMC > SD Partition > Continue

Hey guys, I just updated Kosmos to the latest version, the new gui is pretty f-ing amazing. Unfortunately, there’s quite a few things I can’t seem to figure out, I’d greatly appreciate the help.1: Has anyone got the newest version of Tinfoil working with the latest version of Kosmos? If so, how?I assume quite a few people have tried out the sysmodule sys-clk to overclock their cpu/gpu/ram. I was looking at the FF7 Omnislash mod but it requires that the cpu is maxed out at 1785, gpu maxed at 921, and mem maxed out at 1600. I mean Freebird even says a warning not to run the gpu higher than 768 or it can cause damage. I found this link which explains a lot considering the different speeds and settings. https://github.com/retronx-team/sys-clkI guess my questions would be:2: If I am using the highest speeds possible how long does my Nintendo Switch have before it can cause damage to the hardware if any?3: If it does cause damage to the hardware do people know what the highest safest speeds are? I decided to fool around with the new hekate GUI and I found out that there's a way to implement custom backgrounds. I got to work on creating something I think is pretty cool. Here's how it looks on my Switch.Download (it's a Google Drive link since imgur doesn't support .bmp files]Drop the bmp in your bootloader/res folder and it should show up on the next boot.I also thought I'd make a guide on this because it's kind of fiddly to get it to work:Design your background as a 1280x720 image.Go to this website.Convert it to a 32 color bitmap file. You might have to try both the RGB and RGBA version because I can't seem to get one to work consistently over the other.Rename it to background.bmp.Drop it in the bootloader/res folder.It should appear as your background on the next boot.Hope this clears things up and I can't wait to see what the community will create with this.
