Filter layer features on the Web Map by area

Selecting multiple features at once is an essential tool in almost any application. For cartographic software an example would be filtering multiple geographic features on an interactive map by area.

NextGIS Web added a new tool to the Feature table that filters all layer features within a selected area. Learn more on our web site.

📲 NextGIS Mobile now includes two major enhancements

1️⃣ Attribute table search: You can find objects by searching any column by value. More in the video

2️⃣ NextGIS Web allows you to name columns in the object table using any word, including SQL-reserved words for operations (e.g. delete, attach). Now, a layer with such columns can be fully synchronized with NextGIS Mobile and is available for use in the mobile application.

🖨 New option for easier Web Map printing

Say, you've set up a Web Map in your NextGIS Web for printing, but it turns out that the printer is connected to another computer. No need to repeat all the work, just share your printing layout by sending a link.

Here's a link to a layout we have made as an example.

Dear colleagues,

We are always in search of ways to help you learn and use the full potential of our platform.

After launching our Demo Projects, we’re excited for you to try the NextGIS Sandbox. The Sandbox helps you explore NextGIS Web features before building your own Web GIS:

— Create layers, basemaps and Web Maps.
— Upload maps and data from QGIS to Web GIS.
— Manage features table, descriptions and attachments.
— Practice assigning access permissions for maps and data.

The Sandbox is cleared every 24 hours. So, even if you forget to delete your data, it will be automatically removed the next day.

Warning: Make sure to only use data suitable for public access. Remember, the Sandbox is open to everyone.

Global permissions in NextGIS Web

This allows the administrator to give special rights to a user or a group of users so that they could perform certain functions:

— manage users and user groups, set permissions for them;
— manage spacial reference systems of the Web GIS;
— modify CORS settings.

This set of permissions is separate from the ones given for specific resources (vector and raster layers, resource groups, services, Web Maps, etc). The global permissions allow users to manage general Web GIS settings as opposed to editing or creating resources.

Global permissions can be set for particular users or user groups. Users can be later added to a group with specific permissions.

Select legend items to display or hide

On top of turning layer visibility on or off you can now hide parts of a layer by selecting items in the Web Map lengend.

It's helpful for big projects where one layer may contain a variety of features grouped by value of an attribute.

For example, a 'roads' layer can include primary and secondary highways as well as gravel roads.

Now you can pick which items to show on the Web Map making it easier to read and more fitting for the task at hand.
