New Driveway With Block Paving in Margate, Kent - Another project completed by Newstone Solutions in Margate, Kent. The original area was a simple concrete footpath leading from the pavement to the front door with the rest being a grave / grass garden area.
We renovated the entire area including the long steps leading to the front door. The levels were altered to ensure a more even leveled driveway and we put in a Type 1 MOT foundation base.
New front door step was built, drainage system, flat top edging kerbs across the front and a small brick on edge around the gulley underneath the front window was installed.
The block paving was laid down on river washed sharp sand in a 45 degree pattern with a main colour of brindle from Marshalls Driveline, charcoal bordering and a diamond featured apron at the start using a buff coloured paving brick to create some contrast.

New Sandstone Patio Laid in Canterbury, Kent - Patio installed completed using an Indian sandstone slab in Canterbury by the specialists at Newstone Solutions. We renovated the old patio area including the original base foundation. We replaced the old manhole cover and added a new recessed inspection chamber so it can blend in with the rest of the new patio.
A new step was built at the back doors using a matching facing brick and capped with sandstone.
The rest of the patio had a mortar bed laid down and a sandstone slab laid on top of it. Any drains were lited up the new height and we resin grouted the sandstone slabbing to finish.

We renovated the old driveway and took out a significant portion of the grass area as well to extend it. We created a pathway that would run through the driveway ensuring enough space was left a car to park easily beside it.
The pathway was laid using a natural granite stone slab and a granite brick border around it. An elevated step was built matching the pathway at the front door as well.
The driveway itself was laid on a permeable base foundation and weed block underneath it. This is very important in allowing water to drain down through the surface and inhibit weed growth in the new driveway. The gravel was a gold mix we used of 14mm - 18mm stone. Smaller stone size is not recommended for vehicle use as it will crush over a period of time into dust.
