🇷🇺🇰🇿 Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

The presidents discussed current issues pertaining to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade, economic, and energy spheres.

The leaders agreed to maintain bilateral contacts at various levels.
Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport themed "On the development of adapted physical education and adaptive sports." Some of the takeaways from the President's remarks:

🔹Sport has always been and still remains a crucial resource in terms of providing physical, psychological, and social support to people, in addition to being a means of self-fulfillment. This resource must be employed efficiently for the benefit of those who are in need of special care and attention from the state.

🔹Russia keeps improving the social protection measures for people with disabilities and developing the systems of habilitation and rehabilitation. An action plan for comprehensive habilitation and rehabilitation for people with disabilities that would factor in the potential of adaptive sports must be promptly established and approved.

🔹A detailed inventory of all sports of facilities in the country must be completed by the end of this year, followed by a plan for modernising, overhauling, and equipping these facilities. By 2030, the demand for special equipment must be satisfied in full.

🔹People with disabilities must have access to high quality orthotic and prosthetic care. A register of organisations providing such care must be established. Furthermore, a step-up is needed in terms of supporting Russian producers of orthotic and prosthetic appliances.

🔹The concept of adaptive sports must be promoted, and people with disabilities must be made aware that they can engage in physical exercise and sports. All the relevant information must be published in a convenient and easy-to-understand form via the Gosuslugi public services portal and other media. The goal is to make activities available to all people with disabilities, regardless of their place of residence, income, age, and physical fitness level.

🔹Involving people in competitive sports is imperative. For this purpose, the adaptive sports calendar must be expanded, and the number of mass participation events increased.

🔹Another task is giving opportunities to engage in sports to the veterans of the special military operation. The Defenders of the Fatherland Cup competitions must be included in federal and regional sports events schedules: giving everyone who is a veteran, both combat and non-combat, a chance to take part in these events would be the right thing to do.

🔹In the longer term, the development of adaptive sports must be aimed at achieving the national goals and contribute to improving the quality of life for the citizens, the society as a whole, and the state. To that end, a Concept for the Development of Adaptive Sports and Adapted Physical Education until 2030, and further until 2036, will be established.
