🇷🇺🇮🇷 Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian

Vladimir Putin has once again offered sincere condolences over the deadly explosion that occurred at the Port of Shaheed Rajaee on April 26, 2025. In turn, Masoud Pezeshkian thanked the Russian side for providing prompt assistance with response and recovery efforts following the accident, praising the high professionalism of the Russian Emergencies Ministry specialists.

🔸The President of Iran extended warm greetings to Vladimir Putin and all citizens of Russia for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

🔸There was a thorough discussion of issues pertaining to further development of Russian-Iranian cooperation based on the bilateral Treaty on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, signed during the Iranian President's official visit to Russia on January 17. Special attention was paid to the expansion of mutually beneficial ties in trade and economy, including via the implementation of major joint projects in transport and energy.

🔸The leaders exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues, including the progress of Iran-US talks on the Iranian nuclear programme, proceeding under the mediation of Oman. The Russian side reiterated its willingness to facilitate this dialogue with a view to reaching a fair agreement based on the principles of international law.

🔸The presidents agreed to intensify joint efforts aimed at strengthening the practical cooperation and foreign policy coordination between Russia and Iran comprehensively.

The organisation's current operations were discussed. One of the issues raised during the meeting was developing possible formats for the return of companies which are based in unfriendly countries and had left the Russian market.

On May 7, Vladimir Putin will hold talks with President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro Moros, who will be in Russia on an official visit

🔹The present state and development prospects of Russian-Venezuelan cooperation in the political sphere, trade and economy, science and technology, as well as humanitarian and cultural affairs will be discussed. Additionally, there will be an exchange of views on pressing matters on the international and regional agendas.

🔹Following the talks, the presidents will sign an interstate Treaty on Strategic Partnership and Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

🔹Nicolas Maduro will also take part in the celebrations held in Moscow to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

On May 10, Vladimir Putin will hold talks with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam, who will be in Russia on an official visit to attend the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War

The leaders are to discuss the present state of the bilateral relationship and outline ways to advance the comprehensive strategic partnership further in various areas, with an emphasis on cooperation in trade and economy, as well as science and technology, and to exchange views on pressing international and regional issues.

Following the talks, several bilateral inter-governmental and inter-departmental documents are to be adopted.

🔹Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu exchanged warm greetings for the 80th anniversary of Great Victory. The President of Russia sent wishes of good health and wellbeing to the Great Patriotic War veterans living in Israel.

🔹The leaders noted the determination of both countries in defending the truth about the Second World War, as well as in countering attempts to revise its outcomes or falsify history. An emphasis was made on the decisive contribution of the Red Army and the entire Soviet people to the defeat of Nazism. Just like Russia, Israel reveres the memory of the war heroes and those who gave their lives for the sake of Victory, and May 9 is celebrated there as a public holiday as well.

🔹Various aspects of the current situation in the Middle East and some pressing bilateral matters were also addressed during the conversation.
