Vladimir Putin took part in the launch of several metallurgy facilities via videoconference

Blast furnace 5 of the Yenakiyevo Iron and Steel Works in the Donetsk People's Republic, vacuum arc remelting and electroslag remelting furnaces of Ruspolimet Company in Nizhny Novgorod Region, and a new coke oven battery of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works in Chelyabinsk Region were launched.

According to numerous experts, last year Russia ranked first in the world for the production of high-grade nickel, second for the production of aluminium, third in terms of titanium products manufacture, and fifth in terms of steel production.

On July 21st, Russia celebrates Metallurgist Day. The President took the opportunity to congratulate employees and veterans of the industry on the upcoming holiday.

🇷🇺🇸🇦 President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud

🔹Both parties lauded the progress in building friendly relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia, based on mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests.

🔹The leaders discussed a number of topical issues of Russia-Saudi Arabia cooperation in the political realm, trade and economy, and energy. They emphasised the importance of pursuing close coordination within OPEC+ in order to ensure stability in the energy market.

🔹The President and the Crown Prince agreed to maintain contacts at various levels.
Vladimir Putin met with Head of the Federal Customs Service Valery Pikalyov

The Head of the FCS briefed the President on his agency's activities:

🔹The digital transformation of customs procedures is being pursued at full speed, with a goal set to reduce the processing time for freight vehicles to under 10 minutes.

🔹A queue management system is being introduced. It is already in place at the vehicle checkpoints of Zabaikalsk, Chernyshevskoye, and Bugristoye, and will soon be implemented at the checkpoints of Tagirkent-Kazmalyar and Pogranichny.

🔹The Federal Customs Service is cooperating closely with the Defence Ministry, in particular, by providing assistance with processing of goods needed for defence industry companies and jobs for participants in the special military operation.

🔹In the fist half of 2024, customs duties totaled 3,361 trillion rubles, which is a 500 billion increase from the same period last year.
