Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Interim President of the Republic of Mali Assimi Goita, who strongly condemned the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall and expressed heartfelt condolences to the Russian people

The leaders discussed further measures to strengthen Russia-Mali ties in various spheres, including the implementation of joint projects in energy, agriculture and mining. Assimi Goita expressed particular gratitude for the free deliveries of Russian wheat, fertilisers and fuel.

The presidents had an in-depth exchange of views on the turbulent situation in the Sahel-Sahara Region. They agreed to build up counterterrorism collaboration.
Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso, at Congo’s initiative

The Congolese President expressed deep condolences and solidarity with Russia over the barbaric terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall.

The leaders also discussed the implementation of the agreements reached following their meeting at the Russia-Africa Summit in July 2023. Denis Sassou Nguesso expressed gratitude for the effective assistance provided by Russian epidemiologists during an outbreak of infectious diseases in the Republic of the Congo.

Speaking about the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Republic of the Congo, the presidents reaffirmed mutual commitment to further developing bilateral political, trade, economic, humanitarian and other ties.

The leaders agreed to maintain contacts.

At the Museum Rows exhibition complex, the President toured an exhibit of birchbark manuscripts, ancient weapons, crafts and household items from the 11th-17th centuries.

The President visited the 344th Combat Training and Flight Crew Transition Centre of the Defence Ministry

Vladimir Putin inspected aircraft models, airborne weapons systems and simulators.

The President also spoke with military pilots, now training at the centre, and the widows of Heroes of Russia, killed during the special military operation.

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa

The President of South Africa expressed his deep condolences and feelings of solidarity over the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall. He wished resilience to the families and friends of the victims and a speedy recovery to the injured.

The leaders expressed satisfaction with the current level of strategic partnership between their countries and discussed issues of practical trade, economic, energy and humanitarian cooperation.

Speaking in the context of the BRICS Chairmanship, which Russia has taken over from South Africa, they discussed interaction within the group in its new expanded format.

In light of the peace initiative advanced by African states to resolve the Ukraine crisis, Cyril Ramaphosa briefed Vladimir Putin on South Africa’s intention to continue working in this area with due regard for Russia’s legitimate interests. Vladimir Putin, in turn, outlined Russia’s position of principle on developments around Ukraine, noting that Russia had always been open to a serious and substantive discussion of a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict.
