🔸“First, I would like to congratulate the region’s residents on the 80th anniversary of the Smolensk Region's liberation from Nazi occupation, and on the city's 1160th anniversary, which is marked this year. We all know and are proud of the huge role Smolensk has always played in history: it is a hero city and the shield of Russia.”

Meeting on Far East cities development. The President’s key points:

🔸Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Blagoveshchensk and Birobidzhan all closely interact with Asia-Pacific countries, so tourism, logistics, investment cooperation and transport infrastructure development dominate their master plans.

🔸 It is vital that master plans include a fundamentally new model for the city economy based on the development of efficient and creative industries, and the provision of a comfortable environment for small and medium businesses.

🔸 Key priorities include gas distribution development in the Primorye and Khabarovsk Territories, the Amur Region and the Jewish Autonomous Area.

🔸 A critical task is flood control structures and bank protection. Flood-prone territories must be carefully assessed.

🔸 Proper monitoring of these master plans and annual progress reports are required. This will allow for more accurate and efficient adjustment of these programmes.
