The President launched two major construction projects via videoconference: the 7th power unit at the Leningrad NPP and a high-speed railway between Moscow and St Petersburg
The first project is aimed at building one of two new reactors to replace the decommissioned LNPP units and increase the plant’s generating capacity.
The new railway will cut travel time between the two capitals to two hours and 15 minutes.

The discussion focused on progress on the goals set in the President's Address to the Federal Assembly, including preparations for the implementation of the new national projects.
Among the issues discussed were the growth of the national economy and the GDP, development of the social sphere, the programme to build university campuses, work to strengthen Russia’s technological sovereignty, the pace of building new housing and infrastructure, integrated development of communities and measures to improve the environmental situation.
