Ethiopia's National Artificial Intelligence Policy
I'm trying to find the original policy and will go over it but here is a quick summary of some of the things. I wish it works out and I'll be super happy if all these happen but do I doubt it, yes!
In a country like Ethiopia I don't think AI would progress unless it's open and there's a great supportive collaboration among all the people involved. And I don't see that in the policy among many things.

If you are interested in Computer Vision make sure to apply here. It's a great program and I was a TA there last year and learned a lot too and met some cool people.
The curriculum emphasizes the importance of ethical considerations, geometry and math, deep learning and AI.
ACVSS will happen from July 13 to 23 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Imagine building something that can write, code, answer questions, translate languages, etc.βall without traditional programming.
Now, it resists alignment, sometimes goes off the rails, and even surprises you with made up answers or real unexpected answers.
Would you call this some sort of intelligence?

This is interesting, how is tensorflow beating Jax in a normal 10,000 Γ 10,000 matrices multiplication(element-wise)?
Anway, if you only need per-element operations, use multiply() (very fast) and tf will be faster than jax.
If you need actual matrix computations and wanted to do dot product, use matmul() (takes much longer time). JAX is the best for it

All the countires in the world with not much progress in AI/ML are spending their time on AI policy discussions and on ethical AI!
Well, they are doing the right thing, what if they make AGI and don't have the policies right?

The curse of optimization: When it's accurate, it's slow. When it's fast, it's wrong.

This is cool but I wonder how many external API requests there are and if this is feasible as business but overall it's a cool.
