so, i just finished watching attack on titan
i watched attack on titan, and i’m genuinely thankful i did. i like to think of myself as someone who wants to explore everything there is to explore without any pre-made judgments about genres, so i gave anime a chance. i had watched things in the anime genre before, but this was my first fully committed watch, and that too a massively popular one. i’m thankful to the person who made me watch it (we don’t really talk anymore, so this show will always remind me of them.)
it’s a truly well-written piece (undeniable.) i know some people don’t agree, especially when it comes to season four and the ending. i’ve heard the complaints. but i don’t think the ending was wrong. i think it had to happen the way it did. the point was that eren was a fuck-up and that’s the truth people struggle with.
i fell in love with almost all the characters levi ackerman (LOVEHIM), sasha (obviously), and that entire first group. the chemistry they had was beautiful. hange, omg one of the best female characters in the entire show. and erwin's speech lmao every time it comes up in reels or edits, my masculine energy comes out. it’s impossible not to feel it.
when i started season one, i had no idea the story would expand the way it did. at first it’s all titans - titans are the enemy, titans are the problem and then slowly you realise that titans were never the real issue. eventually, they’re almost nothing. it was always people. i would never have guessed that. i know i’ll rewatch this show someday with a completely different perspective.
