started listening to dhh just a few months back actually. a friend suggested a couple of songs and i ended up liking the vibe. and since then, i’ve just stuck with the few artists and songs i connect with. i don’t listen to everything, and i don’t feel the need to either.
but there’s this weird assumption that girls only listen to dhh to impress guys or to “look cool”as if we can’t just enjoy music for ourselves. like, why is it so hard to believe that some of us just genuinely like the music?
i choose songs based on how they make me feel. it’s not that deep. sometimes i need something energetic yet chill while i’m coming back home from college. and this genre, weirdly enough, gives me both. i don’t sit and analyze every bar. i don’t follow every artist's life story. i just listen to what clicks with me.
and no, i don’t care if that doesn’t make me a “real fan” to some self-proclaimed expert. not everything has to be performative. i’m not listening to prove anything or impress anyone. especially not men.
some of us are just here for the music. let us vibe in peace.

also, there's a similar situationwith watching kdramas. i too watch kdramas. not a regular thing, just once in a while, when i feel like it. i’m not crazy about them or anything, but as someone who’s lowkey a hopeless romantic, it feels nice to watch something soft like that.
but then again, there’s so much stigma around liking kdramas?? like if you say you watch them, people immediately label you as cringe or unserious.
not everything has to be serious or edgy. sometimes you just wanna watch two people fall in love under cherry blossoms while it rains?
and no, i’m not talking about kpop here. not a stan. not into the whole aggressive fandom culture. fans can be so weird sometimes ngl. kpop is a whole different thing and honestly, that’s not my scene anymore.
but the dramas. yeah, most of the romance ones are kinda similar. but some of them are actually so good like, genuinely well written, emotionally satisfying, beautifully shot. and when you find one of those, it’s just the best thing ever. once in a while when nothing else works or when i’m just in that space,a kdrama does the job.

my point with both these things is
that LET PEOPLE ENJOY WHAT THEY ENJOY. dont label them or shame them for any of it. just let people BE
