We hold #1 Daily PPS efficiency globally. Here's what that means - and how to check it yourself.
Daily PPS efficiency = how much of the theoretical maximum reward your pool actually delivers. For every dollar the network says you should earn, how many cents does your pool pay?
Most pools land around 97-99%. The gap comes from block template inefficiency, share submission delays, rounding. Small percentages but they compound fast at scale.
Neopool has held the top spot on miningpoolstats consistently. Not our claim, third-party data.
Check it yourself:

π Weekly Mining Digest | Mar 17-21, 2026
BTC: $70,400 (-5% WoW)
Difficulty: 134T (-7.8%)
Network hashrate: ~930 EH/s (down from 1 ZH/s in early March)
Hashprice: ~$32/PH/day (pre-adjustment β expect improvement)
Block time: 10 min 47 sec average
Neopool stats:
β Efficiency: #1 Daily PPS globally (miningpoolstats.stream)
β Uptime: 100% through the market stress
This week in three sentences:
The network just had its biggest difficulty relief since 2021. Public miners are exiting Bitcoin for AI at an accelerating rate. The miners who stayed just got an 8% revenue bump.
What's happening behind the numbers:
Bitfarms voted to rebrand as Keel Infrastructure and exit Bitcoin mining (March 20). Cango reported $452M loss from mining, selling 4,451 BTC to fund AI pivot. MARA launched AI JV with Starwood Capital. Public miners collectively sold 15,000+ BTC from reserves this quarter.
Every miner that exits = lower difficulty = higher revenue for those who remain. And the exits are accelerating.
Meanwhile, SEC and CFTC issued joint guidance classifying mining rewards as digital commodities, not securities. Regulatory clarity for US-based operations.
Hardware update:
β Canaan A16 XP (300 TH/s, 12.8 J/TH) β shipping now
β MicroBT M6DS++ (556 TH/s, hydro, 15.5 J/TH) β entering market
β BGIN Blockchain: 4nm BT1 ASIC tape-out successful. New ASIC manufacturer incoming
At Neopool: zero downtime. Your hashrate keeps earning while the network recalibrates.

π BTC at $70K. Difficulty at 144T. Here's how much your pool choice is costing you right now
Let's run the numbers for an Antminer S21 (200 TH/s) at current market conditions:
Daily revenue per machine: ~$4.78
Monthly revenue (100 machines): ~$14,340
Now compare two pools:
β Pool A: average efficiency (industry benchmark)
β Pool B: #1 Daily PPS efficiency (Neopool)
The difference: 1-2% in effective payout
On 100 machines that's $143-287/month. $1,716-3,432/year. Gone. Not to fees - to rounding errors, suboptimal block templates, and share submission delays
At $100K BTC this was noise. At $67K with difficulty at 144.4T, it's the margin between profitable and unprofitable
Three things you can verify right now:
1. Your pool's Daily PPS ranking β miningpoolstats.stream
2. Your actual vs expected payout β compare last 30 days
3. Payout timing β daily settlements reduce exposure to price swings
We publish our efficiency ranking publicly. Third-party verified. If your current pool doesn't - ask yourself why

This week in three sentences:
Public miners are dumping Bitcoin and pivoting to AI at record pace. The hashrate is recovering anyway β private operators are filling the gap. And CoinShares says 15-20% of the global fleet is now mining at a loss.
What happened:
MARA sold 15,133 BTC for $1.1 billion β the largest public miner abandoned its HODL strategy. Proceeds went to retire $1B in convertible debt. Core Scientific liquidated its entire treasury (2,537 BTC) and secured a $500M Morgan Stanley loan for AI data centers. Riot signed an AMD deal to convert Texas facilities to AI inference. CleanSpark sold 97% of February production.
CoinShares Q1 2026 Mining Report: weighted average cash cost to produce 1 BTC among public miners was $79,995 (Q4 2025). At $66,570 BTC, most public companies are underwater on a fully-loaded basis. The report projects some miners will derive 70%+ of revenue from AI by end of 2026.
Meanwhile, hashrate is recovering: from 930 EH/s post-adjustment to ~1,000 EH/s in one week. Block times are running 9:32 vs the 10:00 target β next difficulty increase projected at +4.9% around April 1.
The public sector is leaving Bitcoin. The network doesn't care. Difficulty adjusts, efficient operators earn more, and the cycle continues.

βοΈ What actually happens in the 10 seconds after a mining pool finds a block? Step by step
Most miners connect to a pool, see hashrate on a dashboard, and collect payouts. But between your ASIC submitting shares and BTC landing in your wallet - there's a precise sequence of events
Here's the full process:
1. Your ASIC hashes block headers millions of times per second, varying the nonce each attempt
2. The pool sets "share difficulty" - typically 1,000x easier than network difficulty. Every time your machine hits this threshold, it submits a "share" as proof of work contribution
3. One of the shares happens to meet full network difficulty - this is the block solution. The pool detects it immediately
4. Pool broadcasts the valid block to Bitcoin nodes worldwide. Speed matters here - if another pool finds the same block first, your work is wasted. Milliseconds count
5. Network validates the block. The block subsidy (3.125 BTC post-halving) + transaction fees are released to the pool's address
6. Pool calculates each miner's share of the reward based on submitted shares. This is where payout models differ:
β PPS: fixed rate per share, pool takes all risk
β FPPS: PPS + proportional transaction fees
β PPLNS: payout only when block is found, based on recent shares
7. Payout hits your wallet. Some pools settle weekly. Neopool settles daily
Steps 4 and 6 are where pool engineering makes the biggest difference. Block propagation speed and payout precision - that's what separates a good pool from an average one

Choosing a mining poolβ 7 metrics that actually determine your profitability. Save this checklist
Most miners pick a pool based on name recognition or a friend's recommendation. Here are the metrics that actually move your bottom line:
1. Payout model
PPS = fixed rate per share, pool takes all risk. FPPS = PPS + transaction fees included. PPLNS = paid only when pool finds a block, based on your recent shares. At current fee levels (~2-3% of block rewards), FPPS delivers slightly more than PPS. When fees spike (like during Ordinals in 2023), FPPS advantage grows significantly
2. Real fee structure
Headline fees: PPLNS 0-2%, PPS 2-2.5%, FPPS 2.5-4%. But also check withdrawal fees (0.0001-0.001 BTC per payout at some pools) and whether the pool charges for inactive workers. A 1% pool with 0.0005 BTC withdrawal fees may cost more than a 1.5% pool with free withdrawals
3. Uptime
99% sounds good but = 7.2 hours offline per month. Every minute down = zero revenue, full electricity cost. Look for pools that publish uptime stats and have track records across multiple difficulty cycles
4. Latency
Every share submitted after a new block is found = wasted electricity. At 85ms latency, stale rate is ~0.8%. At under 5ms, it drops to ~0.04%. For a 1 PH/s operation, that difference is ~$11,600/year. Check if the pool has servers in your region
5. Minimum payout and frequency
Lower threshold = less counterparty risk (your BTC sits in the pool's wallet until payout). Daily payouts are now standard at most major pools. Some pools support Lightning Network payouts with no minimum
6. Transparency
Can you see: real-time hashrate per worker? Share acceptance/rejection rates? Block finding history? Payout calculation breakdown? If a pool can't show you how your payout was calculated - that's a red flag
7. Pool hashrate share
Top 5 pools control ~79% of Bitcoin's network hashrate (Hashrate Index, 2026). Mining with smaller, efficient pools contributes to network decentralization - which is what keeps Bitcoin censorship-resistant
No single metric tells the full story. Run your machines with neopool.com and compare actual payouts

This week in three sentences:
Bitcoin posted its worst Q1 since 2018 β down 22%. The network's hashrate declined for the first time in six years. And public miners are now selling more Bitcoin than they mine.
What happened:
Q1 2026 final. BTC closed the quarter at ~$66,600, down from $87,500 on January 1. Iran tensions pushed oil above $100/barrel, the Fed held rates at 3.5-3.75%, and spot ETFs saw ~$500M in net outflows for the quarter. On April 2, BTC dropped 3.3% to $66,246 after Trump threatened to "hit Iran extremely hard." Fear & Greed Index hit 11 β deepest "extreme fear" since the FTX collapse in 2022.
First hashrate drop since 2020. Global hashrate fell ~4% in Q1 β ending five consecutive years of double-digit growth. CoinShares reports average production cost at ~$80,000/BTC vs. $66,650 market price. Roughly 15-20% of the global fleet is mining at a loss.
Riot Q1 (official press release, April 2). Produced 1,473 BTC (down 4% YoY, 16.4 BTC/day average). Sold 3,778 BTC for $289.5M at $76,626 average. Holdings: 15,680 BTC (-18%). Deployed hashrate: 42.5 EH/s (+26% YoY). Fleet efficiency: 20.2 J/TH. All-in power cost: 3.0Β’/kWh. Power credits: $21M ($13.5M curtailment + $7.5M demand response). Even with the best cost structure in the industry, Riot is a net seller.
MARA. Laying off ~15% of workforce (~40 employees) as of this week. In March, sold 15,133 BTC for $1.1B to retire convertible notes. Holdings dropped from ~53,822 to ~38,689 BTC.
KEEL (April 1). Bitfarms ticker changed from BITF to KEEL on Nasdaq and TSX. Company declared "no longer a Bitcoin company." FY2025 results released March 31: revenue $229M (+72% YoY), operating loss $150M. Plans to sell remaining ~2,500 BTC and pivot fully to 2.2 GW of AI/HPC infrastructure.
Metaplanet (Japan). Bought 5,075 BTC in Q1 2026 at ~$79,900 average. Total holdings: 40,177 BTC. Surpassed MARA as the third-largest corporate Bitcoin holder. Target: 210,000 BTC (1% of total supply) by end-2027.
Difficulty. The +3.87% adjustment on April 3 brought difficulty to 138.97T β partially recovering from the -7.76% drop on March 21. Hashrate ranged 907-1,083 EH/s this week, settling at 985. Block time: 10 min 10 sec. Next adjustment ~April 16-17: projected -0.99%.
Also this week: Luxor launched "Commander" β fleet management software. Real-time monitoring, bulk commands, profitability algorithm evaluating conditions every 5 minutes. Claims 8-14% improvement vs standard curtailment. Compatible with Bitmain, MicroBT, Canaan firmware. 500K+ machines in Luxor ecosystem.

At Neopool: zero downtime. #1 Daily PPS efficiency. Your hashrate keeps earning β every block, every day.
Next difficulty adjustment: ~April 16-17
β Blockchain Forum: April 14-15, Moscow
β Neopool Afterparty: April 14, Moscow
β Bitcoin 2026: April 27-29, Las Vegas
