a very good book you should read once in your life is kierkegaard’s “fear and trembling”
it is essentially a meditation on one of the most interesting stories in the abrahamic religions. god gives abraham a son, isaac, after he has waited nearly a 100 years for the child promised to him. a child who is supposed to become the beginning of a great nation and a child through whom the entire promise is supposed to unfold. after god blesses abraham with isaac, god tells abraham to take isaac, his only son, to mount moriah (temple mount, jerusalem) and sacrifice him
and so abraham gets up and takes the knife and takes his son and he walks toward the mountain knowing exactly what he has been commanded to do, with no explanation
this is profound because it isn’t a heroic story where someone saves the person they love through strength or cleverness and there is no enemy to defeat, no riddle to solve, no skill that can overcome the situation, etc.. abraham is being asked to kill the very thing he loves the most, the very thing through which god promised his future would exist, and the very thing which he had asked god for.. for 100 years
kierkegaard compares abraham to figures like agamemnon, who in greek mythology is also commanded to sacrifice his daughter but agamemnon’s sacrifice belongs to an entirely different category where he sacrifices his daughter so the greek fleet can sail to troy and the war can continue. there is logic to it even though it’s an inherently brutal act to do. something is sacrificed so something else can be achieved
yet abraham has no such bargain. he cannot reason his way out of the contradiction and he definitely cannot bargain with god. he cannot calculate the probability of isaac surviving or hope he does. there is no rationale between the command he has received and the future he has been promised
yet he continues toward the mountain and that is the exact moral of the story: the absurdity of faith. abraham has every reason, from the perspective of the finite world, to believe that he is walking toward the end of everything he was promised, and that kind of faith is terrifying because it leaves you with nothing to hold onto except the belief itself
a lot of our lives is spent waiting for certainty, we want the numbers to just make sense, the path to just be obvious and the outcome to be almost guaranteed, but that isn’t faith
abraham walks up the mountain with a knife in his hand and a promise that, by every human calculation, is about to become impossible and yet he keeps walking. he doesn’t jump knowing and thinking that he’ll land but he jumps because he believes there is something on the other side that he cannot see

getting back into the groove of things. sized into $marscoin and i’m going to take a pause from trenching for now and focus on majors. still holding my solana position as well.
I like marscoin here bcs I think the recent vamp attempt actually strengthens the coin rather than kills it. I don't think the four one attempt is going to successfully vamp it. the dynamics are completely different from something like neiro, and I think people are forcing that comparison because it's an easy narrative
marscoin has already developed its own community so the question now is whether it can keep that position and turn the failed vamp into another catalyst. we'll see.
also going to get back into equities. been too crypto brained lately, so I want to diversify the attention a bit and start trading some of the setups I’ve been watching there
for now keeping things simple, trading majors, equities and letting the smaller stuff come

3 chains going at it and.. I’m in 2/3 of them lol
kinda crazy looking at this and realising how much onchain has changed in the last month. feels like every day there’s another runner getting attention and liquidity moving somewhere completely different (see: base)
the bad part is that liquidity is still insanely fragmented and you can have three completely different ecos all putting up numbers at the same time but still managing to hit an arbitrary ceiling/wall
no idea which one ends up taking the most share or if they all end up running higher together, it's probably too early to tell
either way, pretty fun time to be onchain

been a week since i last wrote one of these. first of all, I wanted to acknowledge my previous post. It didn't play out the way i expected, and that's on me. when you put your ideas out publicly you're going to be wrong sometimes. the important part is learning…
after a long wait we finally reclaimed $80, congrats if you tailed

have chosen to hold the position as my liquidation is pretty far and I’m paying minimal funding

bluechip @ $3m
bought this and think base will play catch up next week. paired with NVDA (no tax/dividends) so opens the door for listings

prob nothing but I reckon bluechip is worth keeping an eye on
my guess is we keep seeing base foundation members subtly shilling it throughout the week which would make sense if there's something bigger being lined up behind the scenes
I also think a coinbase listing is a very real possibility here. obviously pure speculation for now but the breadcrumbs are starting to stack up. worth watching closely

$bluechip cooling in the 4.8-5.8 range comfortably

the alpha on the left leads to a QR code for the base stocks page base.org/stocks
feels pretty intentional given where the onchain narrative has been rotating lately. stocks, AI, indexes, marscoin, etc etc. everything is starting to converge around the same few themes.
base has had plenty of attention but still hasn’t really had the coin that captures the eco. if they’re going to pick a bluechip for the next phase what better candidate could there be

macro came in a little hotter than expected
durable goods beat, income and spending beat, but real personal spending was flat. inflation was also slightly hotter on the headline with the GDP price index and q2 core PCE coming in above estimates
core PCE itself was in line tho, so i don't think this is some major risk off event. more like a mildly hawkish print and probably not what the rate cut crowd wanted to see
still long but this is just something to keep in mind because hotter macro could mean a bit more chop before the next move
for now, not changing anything. still think the broader setup looks good

MU long worked out nicely. 900 was pretty much the bottom tick. grats if you tailed
NVDA's call tonight was a pretty strong confirmation of the broader memory thesis. demand is still accelerating at a massive scale and customer forecasts are pointing towards further growth + supply constraints are now expected to persist through at least FY28. the part that stood out to me the most was nvidia explicitly citing extreme memory prices as a source of margin pressure and that has been pretty much the whole bet and why I took this trade (remember the 15% price hike?)
good to see the thesis play out
