Today is a very happy day for me: I have finally reached 2000 relatives on my family tree!

The first image is a portrait of one of my ancestors, Col. John Penruddocke. He was an English Cavalier during the English Civil War (1642-1651) and is remembered as the leader of the Penruddocke Uprising in 1655, which was a Royalist revolt intending to restore Charles II to the throne. He conquered Salisbury and raised the Royal Standard but a lot of other revolts were suppressed and he had to lead his Cavaliers into North Devon. In 1655, he was beheaded in Exeter by Oliver Cromwell.

The second portrait is of John's descendant, Charles Penruddocke. He was an English landowner and politician in the House of Commons from 1770 to 1788. He was unopposed as Member of Parliament for Wiltshire at a by-election in 1770. He was returned again in 1774, 1780 and 1784. He eventually married his first cousin, Anne Henrietta Wydham, and it is through them that I descend from King Edward 'longshanks' and King Louis IX.

Today, the World witnessed an exemplary display of tradition, glory and magnificence. The Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II has been impeccable from beginning to end and, despite the faults of The Royal Family and their abdication of racial duty, that greatness which runs through our blood, that characterises our people, is well and truly alive.

British people are a strange bunch, but they are fiercely patriotic, stoic, trusting and very emotional under the surface. They deserve a monarch, and an elite, who will rule justly and with a sense of identity and purpose. It is easy to convince oneself that nothing can change, that our fate is already set in stone: in reality, our course can be altered in a heartbeat. Power, and with it our destiny, always rests on a knife-edge.

May God bless Britain with such a ruler in the near future. One who understands the kinship between him and his people and who will protect and preserve their existence.
