You got a job offer... and you're ready to relocate and build the career of your dreams. You always have a choice to take that job offer or graciously turn it down.
If you want to take it, you want a good deal, which means you need to know how to negotiate a good deal for yourself in English.
Look for Creative Exercise #91 in the community of practice (will be published today) where we will practice negotiating a good deal out loud in English. All you need to get better at negotiating what you want is to know what you want and to practice communicating it without damaging the relationships.
Consistent practice and caring feedback are two necessary ingredients for success, and you will find both in the community of practice. Join if you need native-like fluency in English and if you're interested in learning real-life communication skills and receiving professional feedback. https://community.nataliatokar.me/c/exercises/

Spontaneous vs Prepared speech in a foreign language.
If native-like fluency is your goal, we're probably on the same page. I do not measure my fluency by how well I can prepare a speech. A true measurement of my skills is how well I can deal with uncertainty in a conversation where everyone speaks English.
Here are some tips:
1. Pay attention to your autopilot mode in your first language. Learn which speaking behaviors you're unaware of.
2. Learn to self-regulate your inner state and emotions. I learn these skills with a mentor, and you're welcome to learn alongside me. I'm attending an online seminar on Nov 12. DM me for details.
3. Say everything out loud! You will never improve your speaking skills if you consume information silently.

I'm sharing this information as a student.
I talk a lot about the importance of managing your inner state and replenishing your energy because it's a vital skill for teachers and learners too. However, I can't teach these practices because I'm still a learner myself.
I keep reminding you that you need to learn directly from the source. If you want to learn English, Youtube is not your source. Social media influencers who teach English in their reels are not your source.
If you want to learn the practices to balance your inner state, I'm not your source, but I'm happy to introduce you to my teacher, who has over 30 years of experience. I volunteer to do consecutive interpreting and translation for him because the group is English-speaking.
The seminar will take place on Nov 12, 2022
It's a full-day online event.
I’m going.
And I’m inviting you to learn together.

Self-Regulating your Energy: Taoist Yoga practices
November 12, 2022. A full-day seminar
Watch BEFORE/AFTER in real time.
How to improve your spontaneous speaking skills in English?
The #1 skill is self-correction.
You can’t learn to speak better English WHILE you’re speaking, so don’t waste your effort. You can self-correct your speech effectively only AFTER you’ve finished speaking.
If you know the exercises that you should be doing, it’s easy to build a practice routine. If you don’t know what you should be doing to self-correct your speaking behavior, you will make the same mistakes in your next conversation.
Join the free masterclass on Nov 27, where I will show you how you can do this exercise yourself. I will do random hot seat coaching, meaning everyone has a chance to try this exercise with me in real time. My message is simple: you CAN change the way you speak. And yes, you need more vocabulary. However, the first thing you need is the skill of being attentive to how you speak and sound today.

Everyone is welcome. You need to create an account in the community to be able to RSVP. The event is for community members ONLY.

The most expensive thing in life is ignorance.
And the biggest problem in the adult world these days is "low energy". People know what they need to be doing, yet they don't have the energy to do it.
Many seek the help of "experts". But I believe that you need to become the best "expert" about who you are and what you're capable of.
I can't teach you to self-regulate your energy, but I know that I must remind people that they have more power than they think they have. I'm attending this seminar tomorrow. You can attend it too. What you get is priceless. It's not even about the money.
because the most expensive thing is ignorance.

What presentations do you need to deliver most often? Spontaneous or prepared?
You guys are telling me that you need:
1. Spontaneous speaking skills in English (presentation skills are in the same category)
2. An effective practice routine to learn independently
3. Native-Like Fluency to build your life and career from scratch in a new country (job interview & resume skills are in this category too)
83% need confidence in spontaneous presentation skills in English.
I know the exercises that can get you there. The videos that you see above and on my Youtube channel are the results of my own practice routine. I never write a script and I never rehearse. I sit down in front of the camera and start speaking, just like I sit down in front of a person and start talking to them and listening to them. No amount of preparation will teach you to FEEL into people and into yourself.
I am inviting you to join a FREE masterclass where I will demonstrate my favorite exercise to practice self-correction in spontaneous conversations. I will do a hot seat coaching exercise, meaning anyone can be in the spotlight (if they want it).
Please keep in mind that you should never attempt to correct your speaking behaviors at the moment of speaking. When you're in the middle of your conversation, you should focus on delivering your message, responding to questions, and doing your best to understand the people you're talking to and their perspective. We do the self-correction work AFTER you've finished speaking.
On Nov 27, I will show you how I do this exercise and how you can do it too. You can learn the exercise during the masterclass and then do it on your own any time you need it. I suggest you include it in your practice routine and stick with it for at least two weeks. Once you start recognizing your own patterns, you can change them.
