In the workplace, many people become helicopter managers, hovering over their employees in a well-intentioned but ill-fated attempt to provide support. These are givers gone awry β people so desperate to help others that they develop a white knight complex and end up causing harm instead. β Adam Grant
Another person got a job offer in the UK.
We stated working in Jan 2022.
She did:
- A SPRINT! on Resume, LinkedIn and Cover Letter
- 5 SPRINTs on Clarity to prepare for a job interview
- Lots of independent work in the Community of Practice
It all begins with understanding your own patterns - how you write, how you speak, and how you act.
Awareness makes it possible to create change.

I found another excerpt worth reading! My focus in 2022 is "human relationships" and I want to read the texts that help me understand the beauty and complexity of relationships. I choose to use the English language to navigate this complexity π
I'm also happy to say that I've reached another milestone today. This is the longest reading I have done so far. Almost 20 min, which felt like 5.
You can practice with me. You will find the text I was reading in the description box.
It's the best exercise I know to teach yourself to speak with clarity, develop vocal variety, remove filler words, sharpen your focus, and become more fluent in the language of feeling in English.

βVigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts.β

Check out the new Real-Time Video lesson in the Community of Practice. 54 min of pure practice to work on your pitch, learn variety, listen to the chunks, and practice the rhythm of English. Many people say they have about an hour each day to invest in their English skills but they don't really know what they're supposed to be doing during this hour and if their time has been well spent. With Real-time video lessons, all you need to do is press "PLAY" and follow along. You always know in advance how long the lesson will take, and you can plan your time accordingly. Choose the lesson that aligns with your current focus. Each lesson can be repeated in the future, and trust me, each time you will see more.
As you watch my process, pay attention to the nuances, the miniute details, and adjust your practice routine. https://community.nataliatokar.me/c/real-time-video-lessons/practice-variety-how-to-speak-fast-and-still-stress-all-important-words-41-sec-in-54-min

Do this exercise with me.
Seriously, I think that's my best reading so far!!!
Here is what I have noticed:
- I somehow learned to relax while speaking fast (I'm a fast talker by nature), which means I feel like I DO have the time to say each word and give it the time and the attention it deserves even if I continue speaking fast.
- It became so much easier to stress words and syllables
- I read a 19-min piece!!! That's the longest I have done so far, and I didn't get tired
- my benchmark is "to sound like an audiobook". I think I got closer to this goal with this reading
What do I do to practice reading & speaking better:
- I practice my curiosity skills. I'm always on the lookout for BEAUTIFUL passages to read ... and savor them
- I do the exercises from the Color Vowel System
- I do the exercises from the SPRINT! "Thought Chunking & Pausing" again and again. I never get bored.
- I do self-correction exercises. I record myself, listen to myself, and record again. Learning to give feedback to yourself is one of the hardest skills.
The SPRINT! that I suggest you do if your goal is better presentation skills in English, better clarity, better pronunciation, and better understanding of the English rhythm is "Thought Chunking & Pausing"https://courses.nataliatokar.me/courses/sprint-thought-chunking
It's organized as a routine, and having enrolled once, you get access to a limitless pool of creative exercises and routines. It comes with personalized feedback.
