Why your IELTS (or any other language test) results don't matter that much for real-life tasks and true spontaneous fluency?
Here is the definition of mastery:
"Mastery is defined as great skill or full command of a subject, not just proof of participation or completion.
Certificates often mark a milestone, but mastery involves ongoing learning, application, and the ability to use knowledge effectively in real situations."
As soon as you stop applying what you learned in daily life, you stop being the person who has mastery of the skill. Mastery is achieved when you move beyond simply earning a certificate.
Many language learners tell themselves that they "should" be fluent enough because they spent so many months/years learning English.
The truth is - they learned until they stopped.
They got a certificate which proved their ability to prepare for a known test.
They still struggle in situations where everything is UNknown - what they will say, why they will say it, how to respond, and how to not ruin the moment /meeting/opportunity by saying what they can say but not what they want and mean to exoress.
Being spontaneous in English requires mastery of the skill.
There's no time to prepare, and never will be.
The present moment shows if you can or can not do it.

Language matters.
I experienced exactly what she’s talking about but:
1. I would have never found the words to explain my experience in English without her
2. No one talked to me like that about birth in my first language. Many of the things I experienced and lived through were brushed off as “weird”, “not logical”, or “emotional talk”. I felt crazy because my experience didn’t match any of the words I knew. Of course, I sounded irrational, not reasonable, and overly emotional.
This video is a perfect example of the content you want for the “internalization practice”.
When you know what you know but you don’t know how to say it - do this exercise.
Words matter. Language matters.
We use language to talk to ourselves in the first place. When you can explain things to yourself, you build unshakable confidence in your own truth.
Then you can share your truth with others in the most powerful way.
Ladies, if you have given birth to humans, comment below. How does this land for you?

I work with people who learned English to be more successful at work. Once they get the job, the promotion, or the team they wanted, they realize they don’t know how to BE around people when all they know is how to perform.
Once they learn how to report to the Board, they want to be heard as individuals, but they don’t know how.
There comes a moment when they don’t want to take more. They have so much to give, but once again…they don’t know how.
They want to offer their warmth, but people immediately stereotype them as “cold,” “unemotional,” “difficult,” “loud,” or label them as “Russian” or “Latino.”
One of my clients shared this: “I want to be ME, but all they see is a Spanish guy who’s trying to speak English”
How do you express your warmth in another language? Your truth? Your friendship?
I teach the level of freedom and fluency that allows you to be YOU in another language.
I work with advanced learners who feel stuck. They have learned everything there is to learn, yet they still sound and feel foreign. They’ve read every textbook but haven’t found a way to be themselves. They keep learning new words, but words still fail them. They try too hard when all they want is to be real. Most live in English-speaking countries and still don’t have real friends. They feel othered, unseen, and misunderstood. Many say, “I sound like a simplified version of myself in English.”
I know. I’ve been there—and I’ve built the bridge to the other side.
You need to practice VERY differently to reach a new level—and you’re ready. You don’t need to review grammar or repeat what you already know.
Now is the time to focus on you and how you learn, rather than just on the language itself.
A few more 1:1 coaching spots are open this summer. I offer intensive 4-week containers and transformational 6-month coaching programs. This is deep, very personal work.
If you know it’s time, DM me (@nataliatokar) or this channel and I’ll send you a link to my calendar. Let’s have a 20-minute discovery call—confidential, honest, and real.
