A poem by Mary Oliver, from the book "A thousand mornings". The book is in the community library. Type the word "POEMS" in the seach bar, and you'll find it.
This is my accent practice for today. Took me 10 min.
What I LOVE is that it took me only 2 minutes to choose WHAT to read and what to do. That's what the community is for. You have access to the best exercises and resources, and they ALL will take you where you need to be.
This poem is great for me because I need to practice:
- melody
- breath
- the [u] in "understood"
- the short "a" in "exactly"
- the short "e" in "revelations" and "said"
- the [ai] in "my", "myself", "high"
- the [au] in “mountains” (the word needs more work. I can hear that)

The online learning culture is telling us to create more landing pages with "4-step formulas for instant success and higher paycheck". The success of a formula is measured by the number of sales, and not the number of people who successfully implemented it after the sale.
I want to see more educators who help you get faster results by pointing out the best thing for YOU to do in YOUR situation. You might need only step 2 of a "5-step formula". For example, I'd rather do less and get the results that I need than do a lot of unnecessary steps and feel confused, or worse, guilty for not doing all of them.
People are not dumb. They are very capable. Let's remember that.
If we try to listen louder than our own thoughts and listen beyond the lines of our sales script ... we can help people with any or without any digital products.
We learn from people, not from blueprints. We buy from people, and every salesman's primary job is to meet the demand for human relationship, not for their product.
