Find 'The Presence Exercise" in the community of practice and learn FROM and WITH advanced English learners who practice their spontaneous speaking skills.

You can't prepare every next word you're going to say. This practice is futile.

You can only prepare yourself. That's what self-regulating your inner state is a more important practice.

We're paralyzed by our own fears, thoughts, and emotions. Not by the lack of words. The problem of not having enough words is easy to solve. We have fantastic exercises and routines in the community. With the right practice, you will sound natural and correct in English.

The real problem in spontaneous speech is automaticity. People start speaking before they're ready. They end up saying what they don't mean to say. They fear disapproval. They wait for approval. They get frustrated by ambiguous feedback or no feedback at all. They want to do good and they can't. They feel like they're taking up space and stealing everyone's time. They can't remember the words they need.

The real problem is that this problem repeats. A pattern will repeat until it doesn't need to repeat because you've changed it.

Join the community of practice. Join weekly Sunday Practice Sessions where we practice self-correction in spontaneous speech and learn to express our authentic selves in a foreign language.

Like wildflowers, you must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.

You’re looking at a woman who used to be terrified of the camera.

She tried to look her best, tried to perform, until she got exhausted and learned to let go.

You look most beautiful when you don’t need to control how you look.
They say, “Dance like no one is watching.”

I say, “Dance as if everyone is watching,” because your dance will be the same.

Your beauty is just as powerful when the world sees you.

Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. Learn to see the beauty in everything. Begin with yourself.

P.S. I wrote the captions myself. One person I don't have on my team and probably never will is a copywriter.
I write my own copy in English. Learning to write for native speakers of English has been a long journey. I'm still on it, and it's unlikely that I'm going to be done one day.

We have two workshops in the community with 40+ self-editing and self-correction tools for language learners. Use them when you practice writing and speaking in English better.

We also have A LOT of self-correction exercises. We do it LIVE every Sunday. Join and see for yourself.

“To love someone long term is to attend a thousand funerals of the people they used to be.
The people they’re too exhausted to be any longer.
The people they don’t recognise inside themselves anymore.
The people they grew out of, the people they never ended up growing into.
We so badly want the people we love to get their spark back when it burns out;
to become speedily found when they are lost.
But it is not our job to hold anyone accountable to the people they used to be.
It is our job to travel with them between each version and to honor what emerges along the way.
Sometimes it will be an even more luminescent flame.
Sometimes it will be a flicker that disappears and temporarily floods the room with a perfect and necessary darkness."

A lot of people confuse “practice time” and “entertainment time” hoping to get both out of entertainment time.

Be deliberate with what you watch.
Be ruthless with your time when you practice.
Be yourself when you want to watch a movie. Enjoy it!
