People who need better English to build a better career find solutions in the wrong places. They give all their power away to "experts". English teachers don't know business. Business coaches can't teach English.
It's a double-edged sword.
The solution that has worked for me is to stop looking for people I can pay to solve my problems, and to learn to solve them myself. Instead of "service providers", I looked for teachers who could help me learn.
If you want to do business or advance your career in English, you need to learn to build relationships with people who speak a different language. There is no textbook on that. There's no school for that. There are no exams and no experts who will certify you.
There is YOUR ability to learn, which you can harness, protect, and develop.
Everybody knows that they need to practice. People know what they should be doing. Knowing it is easy. Doing it is hard.
It's hard not only because you don't have the stamina or the discipline, but because there's so much to do....that you have no idea where to begin and how to continue doing something meaningful every day.
People don't know what to do and so they wait...
They hide...
They miss opportunities.
They consume information, but don't implement it.
They don't get better and so they hide again...
There is no online course that will teach you to become YOU.
You need to practice daily to get even a little better. The more you prcatice, the more you understand what practice means. The more you understand, the more you can do yourself.
You do not need an online course every 6 months. Yo do not need an English teacher twice a week for the rest of your life. You don't need to wait for a relocation package. You can learn to continuously improve your English on your own and achieve extraordinary results in the most ordinary conditions. When the time comes, you'll be ready.
When you can learn fast, when you don't depend on what people say, do, or sell, you become unstopabble.
