This picture, reproduced from an untouched negative sent to "The Sphere" Office direct from Constaninople, shows that the stories of cholera stricken Turkish soldiers being dropped by the railsude are not untrue. These men were in the last stages of exhaustion or their spirits had already left their worn-out bodies. The man in the foreground is crouching in the attitude of prayer (See pp. 216 and 217 for fuller account)
