my very specific beef with some of fantasy media is that i simply don't think that christianity would persecute magic if it actually existed and was a big part of daily life

so every story that uses this as a plot point just screams to me "i don't actually think about how religion works and i want evil christians burning witches at stakes"

like come on you think they wouldn't just rebrand it as god's miracle and that the good mages tm should be devouted to god to not lose their soul to the devil or something
