Please be informed that all MDS Students will need to have their temperatures taken by our Educators before commencement of classes. We will be using the Braun ThermoScan No touch thermometer that ensures clinical accuracy and consistent readings, with gentle convenience.

If you are having a fever, you will be asked to return home. Your drum lesson will be postponed accordingly.

With advisory from the government, this week we had decentralized our staff meetings, department meetings, and trainings. We will continue with health and safety measures, including health and travel declarations, on-site temperature checks, and disinfecting of centres.

We are a personal school and believe it is important to ensure the safety of students and staff. To date, there have been no cases of the virus at @mydrumschool .

Travel History and Declaration

Dear Students and Parents of MDS,

In light of the rapid spread of the virus across Europe and other countries, the Ministry of Health has imposed travel measures upon all travellers who entered Singapore.

To safeguard the well-being of students and employees in MDS, students who have received an Leave of Absence/Stay Home Notice/Quarantine Order are not required to attend lessons until the end of the 14-day period. Your educator will be rescheduling your classes.

Please note that it is also compulsory to declare your travel history to your Educator if you have travelled on or after 14 March. Do send your Educator a copy of the travel documents and we will reschedule your lessons accordingly.

📣 Updates 30 March 2020 📣

With the MOH announcement last week on tighter measures for COVID -19 dated 24th March 2020, My Drum School has since suspended all drums lessons from 27th March 2020 to 30th April 2020.

As such, we have been conducting MDS Online Lessons during this suspension period. In the past three days, we are proud to say that more than 300 one-on-one online lessons were conducted. Thank you for working together with our Drum Educators.

We have contacted MOH - 830am, 30 March 2020 and they have confirmed that students aged 19 and above can continue their drum lessons at our physical centres starting from today, 30th March onwards. The option of having MDS Online Lessons is still encouraged for this age group - 19 years old and above.

We will continue to update you as these measures may be subjected to change depending on what the government mandates. Thank you for being patient with your Educators and making the arrangements to curb with these temporary measures. Stay updated with the latest news by following our Telegram Channel @mydrumschool.

ALL LESSONS TO MOVE ONLINE

On 3rd April 2020, 4pm, PM Lee Hsien Loong announced that non-essential businesses need to close their premises with effect from 7th April 2020 (Tuesday) to 4th May 2020. Minister Chan Chun Sing also added, all businesses that can be operated from home, without commuting, will be allowed to continue fully. Therefore, we will still be able to provide Online Lessons from our homes.

By 6th April, all our Full-Time and Part-Time Educators’ residences will be equipped with drum equipment, practice pads, and essential teaching materials; they will continue conducting drums lessons online, from their own homes during working hours. In the past 1 week, we have conducted over 600 online lessons and they have been very successful.
