🐝 HiveClean: I shipped a real desktop app

okay so remember when I said I was building a file cleanup app? it's actually done now and you can download it.

why I built it:
every semester in university we download tons of course materials, assignments, past papers. then we forget about them. next semester comes, same thing. your Downloads folder becomes a graveyard of old files you'll never open again. your device gets slower. you keep thinking "I should clean this up" but never do it.
so I built HiveClean to solve that exact problem.



what is it?
HiveClean is a Windows app that finds and deletes junk files from your computer. it finds duplicate files, shows you space hogs, categorizes everything, and has a recycle bin so you can undo deletes. also scans your Telegram downloads separately.

what I actually built :

this isn't a tutorial project or homework. it's a real app with real features:
- scans 688 files in seconds using SHA256 hashing
- detects exact duplicates by comparing file contents, not just names
- saves your deleted files to disk so they persist after you close the app
- talks to Supabase (a real database) for user authentication
- packages into a Windows installer that works on any computer

I built both the frontend (what you see) and backend (how it works). wrote 2000+ lines of code. shipped it. packaged it. released it.

how to use it:

1. download HiveClean_Setup from the link
2. run the installer, click next, done
3. click "⚡ Scan Downloads" : it reads your Downloads folder
4. click categories on the left to filter (Videos, PDFs, Images, etc)
5. click checkboxes next to files you want to delete
6. click the red delete button, confirm
7. files go to the recycle bin (safe, can undo)
8. want to scan Telegram downloads too? click "Select Telegram Folder" then " Scan Telegram"

that's it. cleans up space without breaking anything.

#Day06update

Today I was basically mom’s full-time comedian 😌😂 We cleaned the house together, and she was laughing so hard at my every clumsy actions and talks.

Honestly, I didn’t even do that much because every time I tried to help she’d be like: “ዞር በይ 😐 በኋላ ሰበብ ለመሆን ነው😒” Especially when I tried to sweep 😭😂

At some point in the middle of cleaning, I literally started dancing 💃 and invited her too 🤭😅 plus a bunch of other random things. But ngl, I was having so much fun because she was home 🤍

After cleaning, I also read A LOT today. Like 50+ pages and I’m still continuing because I genuinely can’t stop reading it ☺️📚

One more thing… mom was trying to make me go to ለቅሶ, but I accidentally fell asleep 😴 Not intentional gin… it worked so 🙂(I hate or fear I don't know bcha to go ለቅሶ፣ሰርግ ...and stuffs)

#Day07update

Today we’re judging the whole week together 😌 (sorry for the late update)

This week was actually really good. I read, learned, and saw a lot of things. I didn’t even leave the house the whole week, but I was still doing plenty inside.

Tech-wise, I confirmed I’m solid with HTML and CSS 👍 and now I’m focusing on JavaScript. It’s going okay, just slower progress, and I keep taking breaks whenever I start doubting myself, then I come back again.

Book update 📚
I finished book 1 of Throne of Glass and I’m already 90+ pages into book 2. The second book(Becoming) I didn’t read it for the last two days, but overall I’m still progressing and I’m grateful for that.

Hobby-wise… not much happening because passive learning doesn’t really work for me, so I’ll try to find a better approach this week.

Family time? Still on princess treatment 👑😂 genuinely having fun at home.

Overall, it was a good week. I know I have a lot to fix, but I’ll work on it step by step in the future.

Evening 😇

These were the things I wanted at the beginning of this year. I simply wrote them down normally, just to see what I might achieve by the end of the year.

A few months ago, when I looked at that list again, I laughed out loud.
“አይ ማሂ መፃፍ እንደመኖር ቢቀል የት በደረስን😅” ብዬ ነበር notebookኤን የዘጋሁት።

But today, when I saw the list again, every single one of them had been accomplished , and in the most unexpected ways.

That’s when I realized there are moments in life that can only be explained as “God did it” moments.
No logic, no amount of reasoning, and not even hard work alone can fully explain and achieve them.

God fulfilled those three little “wants” of mine and even blessed me with far more things I never planned for this year.(including you❤️) And honestly, I’m grateful for every single one of them.

This year taught me so many unexpected things about myself, about life, and about dealing with people.

Moral of the story:
✔️Write down what you want. Dreams become clearer when you put them into words.
✔️Pray, trust God, and still give your best effort every day.
✔️ Some blessings arrive in ways you could never plan or predict.
✔️Growth sometimes happens so quietly that you don’t notice it until you look back.
✔️Not everything in life has a logical explanation ,some things are simply grace.
✔️Sometimes the things you almost gave up on become the very things that remind you how far you’ve come.
✔️And most importantly, never underestimate where consistency, faith, and God’s timing can take you.

God truly has His own beautiful way of doing things, and one day it will amaze you too. ✨

Monday was nice but again heavy reading day and actually woke up at 11am 😭.
Crown of midnight 60+pages and Becoming 30+pages done✅
Have a web-dev session and it's going good but soo slow.I will try another approach esti

I also resumed my Hangul learning session,done with 20 vocabularies and 1 korean podcast 🎉

I also try to journal and write my summer plans on my notebook (ጠፍቶ ነበር ዛሬ ቤቱ ደበላልቄ አገኘሁት...still I have to get new one😐)
