My situation rn
Dev_Diary#19
Today I planned to go to the lab early and learn until lunch… but things didn’t go as planned.
The department head came and was like, “What are you doing here? Classes are cancelled so you can attend the event. Get out of here😅.” (It was the start of IS Week.)
So I went. Honestly, it’s been a long time since I attended a tech event. I always felt like I’m not ready for that kind of environment yet.But the event was actually really good,I even forgot about my ጉንፋን 😆
We played different games, had a panel discussion, and even a workshop. (And I won 100 birr 🤭)
After that, I went to class, then later managed to get into the lab for about an hour. I started learning JavaScript, just the basics for now, nothing deep yet.
Anyway… good night 🧡

A friend of mine asked me to share A2SV lecture resources, and I thought, why not create a channel and make it available to anyone interested?
This pretty much covers everything we learned.

These past days, I started watching a drama, and I’ve also been reading the Bible. I don’t know why, but two things really caught my attention and stayed in my mind.
In the drama, one character said:
“After being in Africa, I learned not to take for granted the things I have today, things I thought were normal. Because there are people who don’t even have what we consider basic, like clean water, clothes, or shoes.”
And in the Bible:
“ነገ የሚያመጣውን ምን እንደሆነ አታውቅምና ነገ በሚሆነው አትመካ”
For some reason, these two connected deeply with me.let me tell you only the piece of it.
It made me ask myself:
Am I really grateful for what I have today, or do I just treat it as normal?
What would I feel if I lost everything tomorrow? (not money-wise… I’m already broke 😆)
Am I too focused on the future and what I want to achieve, that I forget to live in the present?
I was thinking so much that I walked from Piassa to 4 Kilo without even noticing 🙃(at least 2 days)
like I do ,ask yourself : Do you sometimes take for granted things you once really wanted?
Do you focus more on what you don’t have than what you already do?
Are you so attached to the future that the present moment feels like just a waiting room?
I tried to think about solutions, and I came up with two things(not ultimate):
Building a strong personality that doesn’t depend on material things and ,
Practicing gratitude, for everything, whether you have it or not
The second one comes from the first, but it’s something we can practice daily.
And I realized something else…
Maybe the problem is not that we don’t have enough, but that we don’t pause enough to notice what we already have.
We always think: “I’ll be happy when…”
“When I get a enough money”
“When I become better person”
“When life is feels stable”
But life doesn’t wait for that version of us.
So maybe learning to be present is also a skill, just like coding.
Something we practice, fail at, forget, and come back to again.
Both gratitude and a strong mindset are not things we are born with. We build them slowly. And there is no “finish line” for them,it’s a lifetime journey.
But once they entered into your life, they are so powerful. They change how you see everything, learn from things you didn't notice before.
And maybe… being present, even for a moment, is already enough.
I think I’ll stop here 🤭
Sorry for the long random thoughts 🙏
May God help all of us to live in the present. 🧡
Good night😇

Yesterday I mostly watched JavaScript theory videos. Even after posting my random thoughts, I tried learning DOM… but honestly, it got boring 😑 I felt sleepy and fell asleep 🙃
So today I decided to change my approach. Instead of only watching, I’ll focus more on doing, following a YouTube tutorial and then trying to build it myself.
I think I understand things better when I see results immediately, not just listen to theory.
Let’s see how much I can achieve by the end of the day 🙌
Have a nice Saturday 👌

Today’s main plans:
➔ Add JavaScript functionality to 2 of my previous UI designs.
➔ Study for the postponed exam (the situation doesn’t look good 😅)
Let’s see how much I can achieve by the end of the day 🙌
Have a nice Saturday 👌

Today I managed to do everything I planned.
I studied my ADB course (not fully finished yet), and I also completed the JavaScript parts of the two UI projects.(To-do list and weather app)
I finally finished the weather one, standing outside, getting hit by ብርድ because there’s no Wi-Fi in the dorm 😩(Cause it need API key and some other things)
Anyway, the important thing is,I finished it. And this time it actually felt like real learning 😊
PS: I didn’t fully build it on my own,I followed a tutorial, but I also tried to guess some parts by myself.
Have a good night 💛

Today was also so productive day.
Study some academic stuff and understand every part of what I had done yesterday with weather-front and then I do another similar project which is country finder got API from restcountries.com and most of things are so similar with the weather one, so I did it myself.
PS :The idea I mean "country finder" is from gpt .
have a good dream🌝🌙

I don’t regret anything I’ve ever done in life, any choice that I’ve made. But I’m consumed with regret for the things I didn’t do, the choices I didn’t make, the things I didn’t say. We spend so much time being afraid of failure, afraid of rejection. But regret is the thing we should fear most. Failure is an answer. Rejection is an answer. Regret is an eternal question you will never have the answer to. “What if…” “If only…” “I wonder what would have…” You will never, never know, and it will haunt you for the rest of your days.
