Sanjeev Arora - MP of Rajya Sabha from Punjab has resigned. His resignation has been accepted by the Chairman of Rajya Sabha.
MPs resign by writing to the presiding officer of the House. It is the Constitutional Duty of the Presiding Officer to look into the merit of the Resignation and make sure that its voluntary in nature. The presiding officer, if he wants, can order and inquiry into the matter.

A member can submit a notice under Rule 267 to the Chairman of Rajya Sabha. It is the discretion of the Chairman to accept or reject the notice. If the notice is accepted under Rule 267, the business of the House is suspended and discussion on an important matter of national importance takes place throughout the day.
Opposition in Rajya Sabha has moved a notice under Rule 267 to discuss Operation Sindoor.

1. UPSC race is a toxic race.
2. The coaching culture and pressure adds to the toxicity.
3. Parents, students, and teachers tie a lot of importance to the results.
4. UPSC is not the end of the road. People on the other side of UPSC are not fully happy either.
5. Try for UPSC. If you're able to clear it - good, if not, you're no less. You're a bright person, just that you need to utilise your potential somewhere else.

Now, the new election to the office of VP will take place according to proportional representation by single transferable vote. The voting shall be by secret ballet.
All the members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha including the nominated members of Rajya Sabha will participate in the election.

In Rajya Sabha, the same tool is known as "Special Mentions" under Rule 180 of Rajya Sabha.

Judges Inquiry Act 1968 (Some important points discussed in Rajya Sabha)
1. If the motion is presented in one house, then the presiding officer has the discretion to either admit or reject the motion.
2. It is the duty of the presiding officer to create a committee to look into the charges of proven misbehaviour.
3. If the motion is presented in both the houses, then that motion will prevail where it was introduced earlier. For example, if it was introduced earlier in Rajya Sabha (before Lok Sabha), then the motion presented in Rajya Sabha will prevail.
4. If the motion is presented in both the houses on the same day, then the speaker of Lok Sabha and chairman of Rajya Sabha together will constitute a joint committee to look into the charges of Proven Misbehaviour.
The committee to investigate the charges will comprise of three members - including one judge from the Supreme Court, one chief justice of a High Court, and one distinguished person in the opinion of the presiding officer.
