Talked to hundreds of aspirants till now with a special focus on the candidates who couldn't clear the exam. I believe, everyone celebrates success, it is more important to be with the aspirants during the struggling phase. A few things stuck me during the conversations:

1. UPSC is unpredicatable and opaque. Aspirants scoring 100+ from certain answer keys are unable to clear the exam and on the other hand, aspirants scoring 80+ from certain keys have sailed through. I wonder what exactly UPSC wants to prove by keeping students under so much ambiguity.
2. Many aspirants left their high paying jobs to be in this journey of UPSC. They haven't been able to clear the exams despite repeated attempts. Please think twice before leaving your stable and settled job.
3. It pains me to see people/educators/coachings mocking the struggling candidates and just celebrating successes. This is not the time for marketing and sales.
4. Many aspirants have struggled with finances, family circumstances, loss of close ones, mental stress, and what not. They gave it all. Yet, with limited success. It is a rough process.
5. So many aspirants could not even speak while talking. Clearly shows the kind of trauma they are in. Some feel devastated, some traumatized, and others directionless.

I wish I could do something for you but I feel helpless to an extent too. This process is such. Please feel free to reach out to me. I will make sure I am in touch with you and available for you at all the times.

Clearly, just like exit polls, coaching answer keys proved to be futile, including my answer keys.

Students scoring good marks from coachings are not able to clear.

Not sure what UPSC wants. But coaching's answer keys have failed big time.

3 possible reasons for the fact that you were scoring very good marks in GS as per the coaching's answer keys but still couldn't clear:

1. Coaching's answer keys were highly wrong.

2. UPSC discarded many Qs that were supposed to be correct.

3. You failed CSAT.

No other reason explains the scenario wherein you scored 95-100 in GS and still couldn't clear.

Out of the three, only the third factor is under your control. Strengthen your CSAT significantly for 2025/26.
