Unpopular opinion: Monthly compilations won't help you with current affairs.

A few things I wanted to share:

1. I think you have taken a sufficient 1 week break, if you haven't resumed studying, in my opinion, आपको तुरंत पढ़ना शुरू कर देना चाहिए अब।

2. I don't believe in posting too many strategies. I am a teacher, not an influencer. I would want to return to my core content now. I will post 1-2 more strategy videos that might actually help you. However, I will shift gears towards core content again.

3. My next initiatives will be around Prelims 2025 and Mains 2024, including answer writing. (Core content)

4. I have started working upon them. Since, I believe in thoroughly researching and then making content, it will take me about 10 days to fully develop the content and post the video.

5. The next initiative of mine will change the way you look at current affairs and answer writing. (Just like I changed the way you look at CSAT)

Do checkout this video on Strategy for 2025 wherein I've dealt with all the questions received in my mailbox: https://youtu.be/cHvHOKtBBaY?si=8QjUAbh-eQff33Eb

As per my estimate and interaction with the aspirants:

1. There is no one credible source for Current Affairs.
2. Aspirants are still facing problem in CSAT.
3. Answer writing is still a weak area for many.
4. They are still not able to understand Indian Economy. They are not able to understand the concepts.
5. Bare Act of the Indian Constitution is still a problem for them.

Do you agree?

Bansuri Swaraj, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, took her oath in Sanskrit today.

Originally, the Constitution prescribed a temporary use of English in the Parliament for 15 years which was then indefinitely increased by the Official Languages Act, 1964.

A good question from the Mains perspective can be based upon the promotion of language diversity in India, especially in Legislatures across the country with primary focus on the languages mentioned in the Eight Schedule.

Please think on these lines and articulate your points.

Kerala is demanding to change its name to Keralam.

Article 3 - Power of the Parliament to modify the boundaries, change the names, merge states.

Mains Angle - Quasi Federalism - Without the approval of the Parliament, States cannot change their name. Features of a strong center.

Any such Bill will require a simple majority in both the houses of the Parliament.

Enemy Agents Ordinance, 1917 - Applicable in Jammu & Kashmir

Purpose - Punish people who help militants

More stringent than UAPA, 1967.

Provisions - A person accused under the law cannot engage a lawyer without the permission of the special court

(Link this with the Fundamental Right to engage a lawyer under Article 22 of the Indian Constitution)

The decision of this special court created under the Ordinance is final and cannot be challenged. It can only be reviewed by a Judge of a High Court, if the government directs so.

(Link it with Article 21 - Right to Life and Liberty - Also link it with Article 14 - Equality before the law)

Essay - Ships sink not because of the water around them, but because of the water that gets inside them

When the security breaches take place in the country, some stringent laws might be required to tackle the situation.

Guidance for aspirants belonging to a weak economic background:

1. Every single resource is available online for either free or at a nominal cost. Never feel under-confident because of your economic situation.

2. YouTube is the best source for every kind of knowledge in the world. Almost every topic is covered on YouTube by creators from across the world. Only thing being: you just have to follow the right set of people.

3. If you can't afford coaching, don't feel that you're left behind. The market has evolved considerably. You have the option of joining only those modules in which you're weak. No need to join the coaching for all the subjects.

4. India has one of the cheapest internet tariffs in the world. Use it to your advantage.

Personal Mentorship is the new buzzword in the UPSC industry. However, is it really worth it?

1. Let us say there is a very nice teacher whom you follow. She/he has very good understanding of the UPSC syllabus.
2. He/she now comes up with a mentorship program. Let's say 1000 people join it under the presumption that mam/sir will give us personal mentorship and will help us one-to-one.
3. However that never really happens because practically it is not possible for one teacher to cater to 1000+ students for mentorship.
4. Ultimately, using the money that you paid, low cost mentors are hired (who themselves are aspirants and working part time for money) and now they'll set your daily time table, guide you with topics that you've to read today etc.
5. Other way round, there may be a case wherein, same daily targets are given to all 1000 students. But do all 1000 students have the same speed? Do all 1000 students have the same capacity? Can all 1000 students follow the same timetable? Some of them might have some issues and might not complete the targets and will be left behind.

I have received numerous requests to start my mentorship program. However, I don't think its wise on my part to charge money for mentorship because I know I won't be able to devote personal time to 2000-3000 students. And I will not hire junior mentors to guide them.

Think and then fall for the trap of personal mentorship.
